This family run 'sells everything store’ is the place to go if you want something you just can’t find elsewhere. Newspapers, cards, groceries, frozen foods, household goods, DIY goods, garden goods, confectionery, wines, beers and spirits. This place has the lot. The wines, beers and spirits are very well priced and there are often great deals to be had. Apart from the special 'Nisa’ offers, i find the rest of the prices to be on the high side. Also the quality of some of the DIY stuff is very poor. A drill bit we purchased bent in two when being drilled into a piece of very softwood - go to Travis Perkins round the corner for any of your DIY shop. The family is very hardworking and very hands on

Cleator Moor Coop has been recently refurbished and now has a fresh modern feel to it. The Coop houses one of the two Post Offices in the Cleator Moor area, the other being at Wath Brow. The Coop also has an instore Greggs (bakery chain). Whilst I always find the fruit and veg abit limp and quite pricey, I think the rest of the store has great choice for such a small town. The wine and spirit selection is very good. For regular shoppers the coop has a membership card which gives member a chunk of the annual profits.

Wide selection of food, household goods, sweets and beers & wine. There is a selection of dodgey looking groceries - limp cabbages and over ripe tomatoes. There is always plenty basics - milk, cheese, bread etc. At the back of the shop is a cooked meat counter. Have found you have to be careful with BB4 dates, as once I returned home with a sandwich spread which was over 2 months out of date. A lot of the products have no prices on them or on the shelf, which is annoying. Great little standby shop if you need something quick. Good selection of beer and wine which tend to be competitively priced.

Great takeaway sandwich place - breakfasts, baps, baguettes, jacket potatoes, quiches, pies - the Prawn Marie Rose Baguettes are absolutely gorgeous - freshly baked baguettes with really tasty prawns in a delicious sauce. There is a steady stream of takeaway customers . There is a small eating area with half a dozen tables. The breakfasts are really good value for money. The place is very clean and very well run. Think they may do outside catering here as well. Why anyone would use the Greggs up the road when you can have much better sarnies etc here.
