When I first went into the shop I liked the dresses and the shop and paid a deposit for a dress.  Big mistake.  Customer sevice was non existant after they got my deposit.  I was told by 2 different member of staff that they didnt think the dress would need any alterations.  When the dress came in I tried it on and it was huge on me.  I was also told that I was 'in between sizes' and the owner even had the cheek to say that i had lost weight in between the time of ordering the dress and the first fitting (which I definitely had not).  Just a way of trying to charge people an extra £300 for alterations.  When you first try on the dress you get told alterations are 'from £100; therefore how they can justify £300 for ordering a dress which even they said shouldn't need altered is beyond me.  It was also far too long and needed taken up which makes no sense I am really tall.  I also felt intimidated whenever I tried to ask a question or approach the issue of the dress.  Communication between staff is also atrocious.  I had to go over the same thing again and again depending on whom I was speaking to.  Also they have a complete lack of empathy - buying a wedding dress should be a lovely experience as most women will only want to do it once.  Lastly; I think the fact that the owner Liliana always comes on defensive in all negative posts says a lot.  This is a forum for real life experiences of the shop.  Why she thinks referring people to the testimonials page will change their mind I don't know seeing as these are cherry picked and possibly even self-written reviews.  This is all such a shame as they do have some nice dresses in the shop.

I bought a Groupon voucher for a cut and full head of highlights.  I'm sure it was also meant to include some sort of conditioning treatment as well which I didn't receive.  After purchasing the voucher i called to make an appoinntment but was told that the first available appointment was 4 months away.  I told them that I may have to change it as I am away a lot and can't plan for as far in the future and was told this wouldn't be a problem... as it happened I did need to change it and had nothing but hassle trying to change the appointment.  Eventually I managed to use the voucher but it was 'recommended' I only get a half head of highlights.  I heard them 'recommending' the same thing to the person who came in after me with the same voucher.  The person who did my hair perfectly nice and friendly but I think the colour either wasnt left on long enough or wasn't the correct tone as it didn't make much difference to my roots.  All in all I felt it was a big of a waste of time and I am a lot more wary of purchasing these vouchers now!  They make be a good deal - but only if you can get an appointment!

I have been going to Slateford Dental Care for almost 15 years; and my dentist has been Stephen Harrison since he joined the team 9 years ago.  He is the best dentist I have ever come across and I wouldn't go to anyone else.  He is great at what he does and has a very friendly and caring manner; seriously the nicest person I have ever met.  If ever you have an emergency they will see you straight away.  I'm on Denplan which is an excellent scheme.  You pay monthly and so you never have any unexpected bills.  5+ stars!!
