We have been taking our son here ever since he was about six months old in the soft play and he has now graduated into throwing himself down the slides and climbing round the bits suitable for the bigger children, although he still likes to go in the under fives aas well.
We think this is a fantastic place, and although not that cheap to get in there is no limit on the time you can spend there once you have paid.
You can leave shoes and things in a box when you go in and pay or take them off in the actual area with you. The kids security is good with a wristband for them and then a receipt that you get given that means you and only you can remove your child from the building.
The cafe is handy if you want some thing to eat or drink, although we don’t tend to really use it.
Besides the under 5’s area there are a couple of other larger play areas for climbing, running, sliding etc and as a parent of a younger child I love that I can go through with him to help give him confidence (and ok, I still haven’t grown out of it myself!).
A fantastic place for a day out, I haven’t yet seen an unhappy child in there apart from when they are told its hometime!
Blue Reef Aquarium - Newquay
Towan Promenade, Newquay, Cornwall TR7 1DU

This may not be a huge aquarium but it is lovely and does still take a while to work your way around.
We took our son a while ago and he was totally transfixed by the fish, and we thoroughly enjoyed it as well.
I was particularly taken with the sea horse and could have stood and watched them for ages.
It does seem a bit expensive, but then a place like that must take some running.
There was a cafe and shop with a wide range of gifts from pocket money to quite a bit more money.
Definitely worth a look in with or without kids if you like fish, and the setting right next to the beach is beautiful too.
Flingers Party Shop - Patchway
73-75 Gloucester Road, Bristol BS34 5JQ

If you need something for a party of any description then this is the place to go in Bristol.
They do a massive range of party wear, with extra themed stock in at the obvious times like halloween.
I decked out a place twice, once for a housewarming and once for a halloween party in here and every one appreciated the decorations, despite them not being anything too fancy due to budget.
Highly recommended whether you need two or three bits or twenty or thirty bits!
Berties Club - Newquay
East Street, Newquay, Cornwall TR7 1DB
18-11-2008
I have been going here, mainly for special occasions like birthdays, for a long time now.
My most recent visit was only in June this year for my best friends hen do and as always we had a cracking night out.
We nearly always go to Berties in fancy dress and this time was no exception.
The music was good, the club was packed and every one had a really good time, including the members of the group who had never been to newquay or this club before.
I would recommend this club to any one, be it locals, holiday makers or people looking for somewhere to celebrate a special occasion.
We will definitely be going back again, at least until we are too old!
Oggie Oggie Pasty Shop - Truro
34 River Street, Truro, Cornwall TR1 2SJ

I had heard good things of this shop when I didn’t eat pasties, and now I do I have been able to try them myself.
I am a simple steak pasty person, and found it very enjoyable, but they also do a wide range of other pasty 'flavours’ from the normal to the less normal.
Beyond that is the usual range of sausage rolls, sarnies etc for those not into pasties, but it is the pasties they are all about.
Well worth a try if you like a pasty, but I know pasties are very much an each to their own thing, so just have fun trying them all!

A decent sized store with a good array of Cds and Dvds as would be expected.
Most titles can be found in here and I find the staff to be very friendly and helpful when you need them.
I do however find that although the offers in here can be good, like 5 dvds for £30 or similar some of the Dvds seem to have really high prices when you can get them in other places a lot cheaper.
Their sales can be good as well though, so somewhere I definitely consider worth a look, just make sure you can’t get a better price elsewhere.
Toys 'R' Us - Patchway
Centaurus Road, Bristol BS34 5TU

Very large store with a massive range of all sorts of toys from cuddlies to character toys, art and craft, out door toys etc.
Something for every child and the perfect place to go looking for presents for your own or other peoples.
They also have a good selection of baby items, including clothes, nursery furniture, toys, prams, bedding etc.
The tills can be a bit short staffed but I have found on the odd occasion I have actually asked for help to find something I have been helped politely and quickly.
Early Learning Centre - Bristol

Not the biggest store, but always full with toys for all ages plus books, art and craft stuff and right down to pocket money type toys.
There are always toys left out on the floors for the kids to roadtest, which is not only lovely for them after they have been bored going round the rest of the shops but ideal for parents to see what their little one might enjoy next!
The staff are always friendly and very helpful and often demonstrating other toys such as remote control ones or blowing bubbles for the kids.
I would definitely recommend this as a place to go to find a present either for your own children or someone elses. Even the items that have a higher price seem to be very good quality to match.
Disney Store - Bristol

This is a pretty big store, with a good range of products.
I love just going in to have a browse in here and to see what they have in, latest offers and new stock etc.
The staff are always friendly and helpful, and the store is nicely laid out and easy to find things in.
They have some great sales, which are a great time to pick things up for presents at some really good reduced prices.
My son always likes a look in here as there are characters he recognises as well as new things to take his interest!
Riverside Leisure Club - Little Stoke
Station Road, Bristol BS34 6HW

I was a member of this gym a while back when I lived in Bristol and found it a breath of fresh air compared to one other I had been a member of and another I had been shown around when picking who to join.
It felt down to earth and I found the staff friendly and not at all patronizing.
A major plus for me was that I didn’t feel like I didn’t fit in for not being perfect, unlike a previous gym I was a member of.
It had a good gym, a decent range of classes at various times and various levels to suit everyone, a pool and the facilities were fine.
