Bunratty Castle & Folk Park - Shannon
Bunratty Village,County Clare, Shannon
21-02-2010
Bunratty Castle and Folk Park mérite bien d'y passer la journée.

Recently ordered a new leather couch here.
Staff excellent and pleasant to deal with.
The couch we spotted was in a different colour but they rang all their branches for us, to see if the one we wanted was available.
As it wasn't in stock they ordered it straight away from the supplier and it arrived in due course.
they don't stock luxury items however Des kelly's is a great place to shop for furniture on a budget. Some great bargains to be had from time to time.
they also stock carpets and wooden floors.
TK Maxx - Dublin
St Stephens Green, Dublin

Not my favourite branch of T.K Max.
As others have said it is very tight for space and it's best to visit when it opens in the morning.
I have also found that I don't find the "special objects" that I used to come across 9/10 years ago. However it pays to persevere and i very much doubt you will end up leaving this shop without something "in the bag" :-)
If you are a big T.K Max fan you should most certainly get out to Blanchardstown and visit their bigger and brighter branch there!

My husband had a dreadful experience some time ago whilst browsing for a coat in this store!
As he browsed in the mens clothes section, he was approached by a non-national security guard who had the audacity to ask him "what was he looking for in the store" and then proceeded to follow him around the store!!!!!
My husband who had gone to the Liffey Valley to look for a coat was so shocked and upset that he then walked out of the store and didnt bother doing any more shopping in Liffey Valley but got in his car and drove home.
I pleaded with him to take this up with a manager but he declined to do so as he does not like confrontation.
My message is to any manager who may be reading this is to bloody train your security guards properly. We will never shop in this store again but will spend our money in a store that appreciates and does not hassle innocent and upstanding and loyal customers!!!
Yankee's - Galway
26 Lwr Abbeygate St, Galway

(updated on 28-10-2009)
After a visit to the U.S in the early 90's I was introduced to the beautiful fragrances of Yankee Candles. It was impossible to find them in Ireland back then but how things have changed in recent years and I no longer have to pack my case with the jars when I visit the U.S.
I recently had the chance to visit Yankee's on Lower Abbey gate St in Galway. It's a pretty decent sized store packed with all your favourite Yankee candles along with a pretty good selection of shades and other Yankee accessories. I managed to pick myself up a new edition Christmas Shade for €14 instead of the top price of €21, which I think is a little expensive anyhow.
It's well worth checking out if you are stuck for a gift for that special someone or like me you are just a huge Yankee Candle fan!
Ikea - Dublin
St Margaret's Rd, Dublin 11 Dublin

Finally I got to savour the delights of the newly opened Ikea in Dublin.
It is located in the suburb of Ballymun and easily assessible from the M50 or by Dublin Bus.
I actually traveled out there by bus.
the bus number is the 13/13a which are very regular and can be picked up on O’Connell St near the Dublin Bus Offices (Parnell St end).
The bus route terminates at Ikea.
Well what can I say about Ikea, brilliantly laid out, stunning showrooms. The store is bright and spacious and very family friendly.
Plenty of carparking and it was buzzing even after only a few weeks of been opened.
Such a shame that Athlone missed out on having this store located there. I can’t believe the local business community kicked up about it!!!!
