WOW! I stayed here a little while ago, we booked a hotel suite (not the extravagant ones!!), which is quite expensive but well worth it -
The Ciragan Palace Kempinski Istanbul is a luxury hotel that offers the ultimate glamour of a genuine Ottoman Palace. I have stayed in several luxury hotels as I really really enjoy doing so, but this by far is the most impressive hotel I have ever stayed in and would love to do it again and again..
As pretencious as it may seem the Hotel is a 5-star luxury Imperial Palace, that has been restored over the years, the new developed side is a more modern, but not less valued side to the hotel, the original buildings contain the exclusive suites where Arab Sheikhs and the extremely rich reside. Hence the heliport at the edge of the palace suites.
The hotel is on the shores of Istanbul and looks over the exquisite views of the magnificent Bosphorus. If you book well in advance you may be able to get a good deal - keep checking their website to find deals for about £300 - 400 per night.
Oh and if you do get a chance to go to Istanbul, and do not fancy a stay you could always go to the palace to have tea served in ottoman teapots with a variety of sugars.. and ask for the sweet tray (silver layered trays with mini cakes that are delicious)

The Beckton Triangle Retail Park is a good place to go if you do not want to deal with crowds and busy shopping centres like Lakeside.
It is easy to get to at the connections of A13 and the A406, it is about 10 minutes away from the Canary Wharf district. I started going there for office purposes to buy Stationery but then just discovered the Next Outlet and the Boots Outlet towards the rear of the retail park - it is my weekly haunt, as I go to rummage through the Next store and pick up work clothes for as little as £1 during sales periods.
I now also buy all my makeup, cosmetics, perfume and shampoos from the Boots outlet which are between £.50p and £2.50 each. I picked up lots of N07 eye shadow makeup and lipsticks for 50p each. there is absolutely nothing wrong with them at all.
There is an Argos, Maplins, Pets at Home, B&Q, PC World and other stores around. It is a 5 min driving distance to Gallions Reach which has all the high street labels all in an excellent and easy to get to location.

Dagenham Sunday Market is operated by Charfleets on the old power station site in Barking. It has over 600 stalls and gets very very busy, with over a thousand visitors weekly.
You can find everything from clothes, make-up, hair products, electrics, toys, furniture, shoes, number plates to meat, sweets and good quality fruit and veg.
Dagenham Sunday Market has free car park facilities available for hundreds of cars, it is just off the A13 and really popular with locals and North East Londoners.
I always go and pick up my weekly fresh gigantic mushrooms from Norwich, fresh beef and meat products from Essex and free range organic eggs from Chelmsford all from one place in the Market.
