posh paws pet shop - Cheshunt

51 high street cheshunt, Waltham Cross, Hertfordshire EN8 0BS

01-07-2012

I got a terminally ill kitten from that shop. She had corona virus either from irresponsible breeding (her parents)or from her stay in the shop in that glass fish tank-sized cage she was kept with other cats. The virus soon mutated into FIP - a deadly disease for cats for which there is no cure. It was heartbreaking to watch my little girl just fade away. She was very much loved but never even had a shot at a long happy and healthy life. I have multiple vet records (Goddard veterinary clinic, Kennington) and disease history to back my words and we will pursue the case further.
I will not get any more kittens from that shop and I wish it would go out of business. They encourage irresponsible breeding, kittens are kept in glass cages four or five at a time, most of them have ear mites and sore eyes(that alone should get the shop closed, you don't just get away by selling obviously "damaged goods" especially when a little precious life is involved.) I don't understand how that sort of business can still exist.

EmStone1 I bought the kitten because I fell in love with her and had to take her to more humane conditions. If you did your research about FIP you would know that it is not cancer, it is an INFECTIOUS disease, i.e. spread from one cat to another through feces or from mother-cat to her kittens. It is also not easily diagnosed – only post-mortem, and it’s 99.9% lethal – ask any vet if you care. SHE WAS TERMINALLY ILL WHEN I BOUGHT HER! You essentially sold me damaged goods and a heartbreak – and you’re dealing with living creatures! You should be ashamed of yourself and instead of supporting irresponsible breeding go support a rescue centre.

posh-paws FIP is as you said passed down from mother cat to its siblings, a blood test cannot show signs of illness unless its active and not dorment like cancer in human unfortunatley even a vet check will prove pointless, a simple stress related incident can trigger the virus!! Sorry SALE OF LIVESTOCK, 12.1 all stock sold must be in good health as far as can be reasonable determined without veterinary inspection……not my rules, complain to the Government. How am I suppose be ashamed when I have honestly not done nothing wrong, if you are angery do not find an excuse if you want the breeders details take it out on them, as we have suspended all sales from afew breeders who when we checked did not meet our high standards.
