Happiness is a Chinese takeaway and I will tell you now they without doubt do the best tasting curry in south shields. The chips and curry from the place are first class and can not be bettered by anywhere else. More of the curry than the chips mind you. They do offer fish and chips and a large selection of Chinese and Cantonese meals all of which are made fresh and to a high standard. The staff are very friendly and ensure prompt and polite service, the prices are about average for a takeaway and you always get your free crackers if you spend over £10.

WH Smith is located on King St in South Shields, it has been around for what seems an eternity. It is a smallish branch that has a range of books and stationery as well as some gifts as well. This outlet is well priced and has quite a large range in despite its size. The staff are very helpful and chatty and will try there best to help you out, The range of books is not the best but they can order anything from a larger store for you and have it delivered within a couple of days which is always handy.

Mystique is based in Fredrick St in South Shields, they do a wide range of services from framing pictures to studio picture taking.
I have used this company a number of times for framing and getting photos taken and they offer a very professional and reliable service.
I got them to mount some photos onto a lacquered piece of wood and I was surprised at how good it looked. I have had a number of photos framed by these guys and the service is first class.
If you are looking for a gift for someone that is totally different then give these guys a visit you will not be disappointed.

Kerrylee’s Florist is based in Laygate about 2 mins walk from Chichester metro station. This shop is relatively new to the are and is run by a family. I have used these florists a few times, and I have to say the quality of the flowers are very good as well as the displays they do for you.
The staff are very helpful and will go the extra little way to make sure you are totally happy with what you are buying.
The range of flowers are very good and the prices are very competitive. I would recommend this florist to anyone who needs flowers for any occasion as you will not be disappointed.

Vision Express is based in King St in south shields and has been in the town centre for a while now, it recently moved from the bottom of King St to the top of King St close to Woolworths.
The branch is small compared to the other branches it has in the north east, they offer eye tests both private and to NHS patients. The range of glasses they have in are ok but the prices of the lenses and frames for decent type of frame is far to expensive in my view.
The price you pay for one pair of glasses from there you can get 2 pairs of the same lenses and similar frames from elsewhere.
Again the staff try the hard sale push on you and try not to give you your prescription if u need glasses stopping u from going elsewhere to get them.

Marks in Spencer is located in King St in south shields, it is a small to medium size store that sells a range of food and clothing as well as gifts.
The stock it sells is your typical Marks and Spencer stuff that I find is way over priced and about the same quality as Asda’s extra special range.
The shop itself is quite busy and nearly always full of middle aged people and older people.
As I have mentioned I find the prices of items to be rather high and you do not get value for money, and the staff are very helpful and also like to have a chat with the customers which is a plus for the store.

Hackers Computers is based in an industrial estate in south shields. and has been open for quite a while. The unit is medium in size and is quite well stocked up on components as well as part build and fully built desktops as well as laptops.
They also have a website where many people order from then collect in store to save on the postage.
The staff are quite technically adept and will answer most questions without any problems.
Prices in the unit are about average and can be cheaper if u order online from their website. This is probably one of the better computer outlets located in South Shields.

GHI computers is based at the top of King St in south shields and is relatively new to the town centre. The shop is medium in size and has a range of laptops as well as desktop machines for sale.
The do also sell components, but they are more on a buy to order basis. The shop stock wise has a very minimalistic look about it and does not carry much of a range as well as stock.
The staff every time I have gone in seem to be people who have no technical know how on what I was asking for components wise and had to seek help.
Prices in the shop are on the expensive side and the range is quite disappointing as well

The Curry’s store located in King St in South Shields is quite a small store that has a small range of electrical goods that the larger chains offer.
The shop is well kitted out with TV’s and digital cameras as well as laptops but little in the way of anything else.
You can go in and order anything that is on the website from them the prices I find are about average with some things being slightly overpriced.
The staff I find try to talk all technical to try and get you to buy whatever it is you are looking at and always try to do a hard push sale.
Their technical level are below average and the whole shopping experience is bought down by someone jumping on you son as you walk through the door.

Hogg Chemists based in south shields is a well run chemist that has a range of goods apart from doing the usual stuff a chemist does. The staff are very helpful and friendly and they also offer a prescription collection and drop off service which is a life saver for us.
They offer a range of cosmetics and toiletries and also stock a small selection of sweets as well as shampoo and other buy over the counter products.
The prices are about standard compared to other chemists and obviously the prices of prescriptions is going to be the same wherever you go the personal touch you seem to get with these makes this my number one choice chemist in South Shields.
