Inexpensive, good salads, sandwiches and warm food of the day. Relaxing ambience for lunch

Inauthentic, expensive Thai food. The regulars (not many) are the Bo-bos which either do not know or do not want the authentic taste of the glorious Thai food. To me it's a rip-off.
Chez Prune - Canal Saint Martin
36 rue Beaurepaire, 75010 Paris

The food is un-interesting, but the bar offers 1€ coffee.
Takigawa Grand Indonesia - Jakarta
Grand Indonesia Mall, floor 3A, Jakarta

One of the best Japanese food I’ve ever tasted, with very nice decor and satisfactory service. Perfect for hanging out with family and friends. Great quality of food. Member card’s offered for some discount; definitely great value of money. My favorites are seafood Shabu-shabu (Japanese steam boat), Takigawa Rolls, all the makis, and Melted Chocolate dessert. Staff speak English and are very helpful. Location’s perfect at the heart of Jakarta. All taxi drivers in Jakarta know Grand Indonesia mall. The restaurant’s on Floor 3A.
Lao Lane Xang, Rouammitt - Chinatown

A Lao-Thai-Vietnamese restaurant with an elegant decor and affordable prices. Food’s excellent; everyone I brought to eat there was impressed by the taste, presentation and service. A definite must-go.
Café de la paix - Opera
5 place de l'Opéra, Près de l'Opéra Garnier et rattaché à l'Intercontinental Grand Hôtel, 75009 Paris

An excellent place for a coffee or apéritif (alcohol before meal) over smooth talks with friends/family or significant other. Regularly, I’d come by for a 10€ kir (chardonnay + blackcurrant liqueur) that comes with a plate of assortment of French delicacies (including delicious macaroons). The best value for the price.
Kintaro - Opera
24 Rue St Augustin, 75002 Paris

A low-priced Japanese restaurant that doesn’t serve sushi/sashimi/maki. Go for the excellent yakiniku, yakisoba, ramen and udon instead. You won’t regret, you’ll be an instant regular. Packed by Japaneses.
Le Cardinal - Paris
5 Porte de St Cloud, 75016 Paris

A nice restaurant in one of the most strategic places in Paris 16. It serves fine French cuisine. In comparison to the finesse of the food, the price brings good value. Aim for great seafood platter or just fresh oysters for a starter. Great for families and couples. Friendly, but rather formal services.
Toni And Guy - Palais Royal
248 Rue St Honoré, 75001 Paris

It’s always been difficult for me to find the right hair-dresser. The last one I liked was in Jakarta. Now that I live in Paris, I’ve done trial and error with some, and finally (sooo relieved) I found one in Tony & Guy St Honoré. Midori, apparently the senior hairdresser mastering Asian hair like mine, gave me the hair-cut that I’ve been proud of for 4 months now. It’s elegant and modern, just like I wanted. This week I’m going back to get her to refresh my hair! It’s true that the salon is too noisy with the background music that sounds more like a foreground, but hey, the right hair-dresser is hard to find. Pls note: the right phone number for rendez-vous is 01 40 20 98 20.
