Lamb and Flag - Covent Garden
33 Rose Street, Covent Garden, London WC2E 9EA
28-12-2007
A large internet open day was also being held and this was quite an attraction in itself. In the end we had a drink at the Lamb and Flag which was one of the more traditional British public houses that we could find, and my friend appreciated that touch as a British Pub in London felt much more authentic then any we had been to in L.A! This place certainly had that Old English feel about it and the service was excellent as were the range of drinks on offer. We stayed until 9pm and decided to end our day here. In all we had visited no less then 11 of London’s Major attraction in one day, with most of them being free, and all within easy reach. We decided to complete the second half of our sight seeing plans on the following day.
Forge Architects - Leicester Square
Leicester sqyaure, London SW1P 3JX

As soon as I entered the Forge in London’s Covent Garden I could see that it oozed class. With a departure from the traditional London pub theme that seems to be a popular but safe bet for public house owners, the Forge strives to be a truly upper class wine bar and succeeds in every respect. The interior design is modern yet still very comfortable, a subtle combination that is very hard to achieve. The place serves a very extensive range of fine wines and has a great food menu all at prices that don’t really seem to be as high as you would expect considering the fantastic surroundings.
London Eye - South Bank
55 Victoria St, South Bank, London SW1H 0EU

Having enjoyed a satisfying lunch at one of the fish bars, my boyfriend and I bought tickets to go on the London eye and this was relatively easy as the queues were quite short on this day. I expect that for a weekend or holiday period, booking tickets in advance would be a better way to do things, but after only 20 minutes were on the wheel enjoying the ride.
The views were great but I think it is just the “doing it” part that is the most rewarding. Having completed our rotation we stepped off and started walking towards Westminster Bridge.
All Bar One - London
36 Dean Street, London W1D 4PR
28-12-2007
Even in spite of the preparations still going on in the bar, there was still plenty of the area accessible and we took a late breakfast in All Bar One which is located on the opposite side of Leicester square. This is quite a good bar for both enjoying a daytime drink, and also for its night time ambience. We ordered club sandwiches and some bar snacks for what was fast becoming a late breakfast, with a view to finding another place at which to eat a more substantial lunch a little later on. We washed it down with some of the finer beverages on offer. Our quick break came to an end and we were once again pounding the streets.
