Simply Amber - Milton Keynes
Midsummer Arcade, Milton Keynes MK9 3BA
31-01-2009
This is a small stand down one side it tend to move about a bit but last time I saw it was outside woolworths.
They sell earrings, rings and necklaces - which have amber stones in them. There are different coloured amber as well rather than thetradional yellowy colour. There jewellery is fairly cheap and if you are after something different then this may be the place to go. The is a quite range of choice.
The staff are friendly. They will box your jewellery if its for a gift
Silveraki Silver Jewellery - Milton Keynes

This is a small stand down one side of the shopping centre - near Boots and O2.
They sell earrings, rings and studs for body piercing, necklaces and rings. There jewellery is fairly cheap and if you are after something different then this may be the place to go. The is a quite range of choice.
The staff are friendly. They will box your jewellery for a small price if its for a gift.
Accessorize - Milton Keynes
90-94 Midsummer Arcade, Milton Keynes MK9 3BB
31-01-2009
I love accessorize - there is so much stuff in there that i would like to buy - if only i could afford it. This branch is quite big and stocks a range of items from hair bands/clips, jewellery, hats, sunglasses and bags.
Find the staff are always willing to help you especially if you are looking for something in particular or to match with a special outfit.
This branch goes straight into Monsoon so you can match items with clothes in there.
Parking is all around the Centre.
sainsburys - Milton Keynes
799 witan gate, Milton Keynes MK9 2FW
31-01-2009
Milton Keynes Sainsburys is in a new location and all I can is it was about time to. The old store was showing its age. This store is bigger, brighter and a pleasure to shop in.
Parking is situated underneath the store - there appears to be plenty but it can get congested under there.
The store has a large clothing and homeware section - including electrical and music.
We then get onto the food - there is a fresh fish counter, a hot chicken counter, curry counter and a delicatessen to name but a few.
Although the shop is large is doesn’t seem to take as long to get around as some of the other large supermarkets in the town.
There are lots of self scan tills and plenty of normal tills to help you get your shopping quickly.
next - Milton Keynes
unit 4e westcroft district centre, bransdale drive, westcroft, Milton Keynes MK4 4DD
31-01-2009
I sometimes prefer to go to this store rather into CMK as its smaller and less busy. Having said that they still sell a wide range of stuff from womens clothing, mens clothing, kids wear and household items.
The layout of the store is a bit bizarre esp as they must do a roaring trade in kids clothing but try getting a buggy down to the back to the kids wear - its not easy and the staff just watch you struggle.
The staff on the tills are always helpful and friendly - they are willing to order you something in if they don’t have the size you are after in stock.
Parking is free and just outside.
Costa - Milton Keynes
unit 5 station house, Milton Keynes MK9 1LR
31-01-2009
This Costa is situated down by the station. It sells the usual range of coffee, tea, Panini’s and cakes.
This branch does a roaring trade in takeaway coffees due to its positioning - in fact I would say that’s where most of its trade comes from. If you were to sit in and drink your coffee, which I have on occasions you would find that it would be quite quiet and peaceful.
The times I have visited there have been a very limited number of staff but they are always polite and friendly.
There is very little parking nearby - unless you are getting the train somewhere.
Cineworld - Milton Keynes
602 Marlborough Gate, Milton Keynes MK9 3AB
31-01-2009
I have a Cineworld card - which means I pay so much a month and then can use the cinema as often as I like without paying any more. The only problem with this is that you cannot prebook your tickets over the phone/internet. So when something has just been released you have to join the queue to get your tickets.
They never seem to have enough staff on the ticket desks either esp at peak times like bargain Tuesday, or Orange Wednesday. Those staff they do have don’t always listen - be aware the last time I got tickets they gave me one ticket for one showing and another for a completely different time.
There is the usual drinks, hotdogs, popcorn and pick and mix. The auditoriums themselves are starting to show their age - some of the chairs are broken. Apart from that it’s a good place to go and is very popular.
Milton Keynes Central Library - Milton Keynes
555 Silbury Boulevard, Milton Keynes MK9 3HL
31-01-2009
Milton Keynes library is a really good place to go and get books, read and study. They have a huge selection of books, which is constantly being updated.
They now offer self service which means that you are not waiting around for ages to bring books back or take them out.
Their reference section is impressive and they have table and study booths to work at.
They have the daily papers each day and the opening times are reasonable.
They do not open on a Sunday, which can be annoying.
All in all a good library and very helpful staff.
Fat Face - Milton Keynes
136 Midsummer Arcade, Milton Keynes MK9 3BA
31-01-2009
Fat Face is situated on the corner opposite Pizza Express. It is part of chain that offer mail order as well as shopping in store. Although the clothes are quite expensive my experience of the clothes that I have purchased is that they are of a high quality, they wash and where well. I still have a hooded jumper and some shorts that I have had for at least 10 years.
This store is quite small but has a range of mens, womens and childrens wear. They do have fairly good sales and if you are registered online with them they often send through offers.
Express by Holiday Inn Portsmouth - Portsmouth
Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth PO1 3FD
31-01-2009
Stayed at this hotel in November with a colleague. Expressed checked ourselves in without any problems.
The location is superb - you park in the gunwharf underground car park and then hand your ticket to reception and you will get 24 hours free parking, then any extra after that was £2!
The rooms themselves are very spacious, clean and modern.
This suited us fine. The rooms were spacious and clean and the shower superb
Although the hotel doesn’t have a restaurant there is a large variety to choose from within the Gunwharf complex. Breakfast was good, only cold snacks but as much as you wanted.
