Meadowbank Dental Practice - Edinburgh
15 Earlston Place, Edinburgh, Scotland EH7 5SU
17-04-2013
So far I am extremely pleased with my move to Meadowbank. The receptionists and nurses are friendly and helpful. The dentist allocated to me is very professional and takes time to explain options and costs. He also gives a commentary during treatment on what he is doing. More importantly I have been treated by the same dentist throughout the 3 years. I have had some complex work done such as a bridge and all has gone well.
Finally I would note that all of the preceding reviewers have made only one review each. I tend to ignore such reviews as they are normally made by people with an 'axe to grind' and so cannot be trusted. True objective reviewers will make a reasonable number and a wide range of reviews.

It took 2 days to complete as originally advised and they have done a superb job all round and the cost was a lot less then going to Ford.
Highly recommended.

De Vere Grand Harbour Hotel - Southampton

We booked into this hotel on 25 May for 5 nights following a tour of Dorset. It was a special occasion and so I paid extra for an Executive King Room with a balcony and harbour view. The balcony (Room 248) actually overlooked a noisy roundabout with just a side view to the harbour. The room had no air conditioning and so it was necessary to keep the windows wide open but it was still impossible to sleep with the heat and traffic noise. What the hotel description doesn’t mention is that the hotel has a busy road in front and down the side and it is not adjacent to the harbour. In fact there is a Holiday Inn in front of it.
First thing the following morning we asked at reception whether they could do anything for us and they asked that we go back at 12 to explore options. So we changed our plans and dutifully went back at 12 only to be told that we would have to stay in the same room the following night and that they could then move us to a room at the back of the hotel for the final 3 nights and that no rooms in the hotel had air conditioning. So that was half a day wasted.
Fortunately we had a flexible booking and so checked out and moved into the Novotel for the next 4 nights.

The Old Fish Market Pub - Bristol
59-63 Baldwin Street, Bristol BS1 1QZ

We ate here twice on a recent visit to Bristol. Good Fullers beer and surprisingly good Thai food. On both occasions the food was well spiced and well presented. I would guess that the food is run as a separate business as it seems to be run by a Thai family and they must have a kitchen downstairs and the food comes up by dumb waiter.
Really good value and well recommended.
Radisson BLU Hotel Bristol - Bristol

Stayed in Bristol for one night to break a long journey and booked this via Expedia. The only surprise was that we had tp pay £18 to park the car as this didn't show upon Expedia. We stayed in a business class room which was stylish, comfortable and clean. All of the staff were polite and helpful. Perfect location and we were on the 14th floor and so a great view. Free wifi without tricks to try and make you pay. Buffet breakfast was first class with loads of choice.
Excellent hotel and well recommended. I shall be back on my next visit to Bristol.

We love Japanese food and came across this place by accident while staying in Bristol for one night. The food was fine although not the best presented sushi and sashimi we have eaten. The meal was let down by poor service though. It wasn't busy but when we had finished the main course the table was part cleared and then forgotten. No refills of green tea and no one interested in bringing the bill. Pity.
Enterprise Boats - Falmouth
"", Falmouth, Cornwall TR11 3DF
14-06-2011
Took the trip from Falmouth the Truro and back and thoroughly enjoyed it. The boat is quite basic but has refreshments, toilets and an inside area if the weather is bad. The 1 hour journey has just the right amount of commentary to point out interesting sights and boats without it becoming over-powering. A good day out.
