Basi Gas - Bradford

500 Leeds Road, Bradford, West Yorkshire BD3 9RU

30-03-2012

I have just had my central heating done by Basi Gas Plumbing & Heating and I am very pleased I did !

The company were recommended to me by a work colleague.

The initial quotation visit was promptly arranged and professionally conducted with an understanding of what my requirements were and attention to my needs as a customer. The company employ a large team of gas-safe accreditred installation engineers.

I opted for a Bosh Worcester Combi Boiler which comes with a 7 year manufacturers warranty, five radiators and a curved chrome towel rail. My installers were Lewis and Sam who were puntual, hard working, competent, trustworthy, polite and extremely careful and tidy in my home, putting dusts sheets down everywhere and moving furniture carefully which I really appreciated. They finished the work in a proficient, accomodating and tidy manner which took the stress out of having the work done. My house looks great with a new, high-tech, energy efficient and very quiet boiler with new radiators and a fabulous towel rail.

I have been very impressed with this company. I will use them again for any plumbing/ heating jobs and I will also be recommending to friends and family.

TK Maxx - Halifax

Unit 1 Greenmount Retail Park,, Pellon Lane, Halifax, West Yorkshire HX1 5QN

26-10-2011 (updated on 30-03-2012)

I love TK Maxx !

The TK Maxx store in Halifax is a great size if you don’t want to spend ages getting around all the exciting Departments in store to find your bargains. The store is tidy and well presented and the staff are friendly and helpful.

I have found some of my best bargains here.

I tend to go first thing on a Saturday or Sunday when it is a little quieter or sometimes after work although this isn’t always possible as they usually only open until 6.30 pm. The Greenmount Retail Park is just on the edge of Halifax Town Center, is easy to get to and the parking is ample and free.

TK Maxx has revolutionised my shopping habits and I hardly shop at other Department Stores these days.

It is the thrill of the find. The trick is to locate your size (colour coded on the hangers) for each category of clothing & footwear and stick to those areas. If you see something you love buy it… it won’t be there when you go back … believe me I’ve done this. Try things on before you buy, plenty of changing rooms. Once you get familiar with the categorised sections of clothing, footwear and homeware that are your taste and fit, you can become quite proficient in finding what you like more often. If you change your mind you can return your purchase within 14 days without quibble.

If you are a pet owner then it is worth a look at the Pet Care section, some really cool stuff and you won’t find better quality :)

There is a limited availability of furniture at the Halifax store but don’t under estimate the mens, womens, childrens clothing and footwear, homeware / lighting and gift sections… plenty of designer and high quality choice all year round.

22.1.12 – I am pleased to report that some lovely solid, handmade furniture has arrived at the Halifax TKMaxx store. Hoorah.

Happy shopping :)

The Mill Discount Dept Store - Batley

Bradford Road, Batley, West Yorkshire WF17 5LY

03-11-2011

‘Batley Mills’ is a great place to visit for a relaxed one stop discounted shopping experience.

I am pleased to say ‘The Mill’ in the last couple of years has evolved and improved greatly on their selection of women’s clothing and fashion, catering for a wider range of clients than just the over 60s. As well as Planet and Precis Petite, they have expanded their clothing range to include Minuet, Kaliko and Jacques Vert which is great. I have as a result started going to the Mill regularly to keep my work wardrobe up to date. I have really had some good buys.

As well as the improved womens clothing, the Mill in Batley is a great place to find handbags, luggage, wallets and purses etc. The discounted brands include Radley and Hideskin

The staff seem helpful and friendly and if you are visiting by car there is plentiful free parking (although it can get busy at the weekends).

The Cafe Nova coffee shop is located on the 1st floor of the mill and they not only serve delicious teas and italian coffee but their cakes and sandwich selections are also very tempting and a great excuse to have a break.

It would be nice if good quality fashionable footwear could be introduced to the mill, similar to the selections found at the Boundary Mill in Colne. I also think emailing offers and information out to customers regularly for shopping events such as an extra 10% off or a free coffee voucher would be a good way of encouraging cutomers to keep visiting.

I don’t always go to the upper floors of the mill as I find the escalator system a little bit frustating in that you are forced to walk along the length of each floor for the ascent and then the same again on the way down. This zig-zagging may be an attempt to encourage shoppers to walk through each of the floor areas but I am afraid I just find it a nuisance.

Other than that I would enthusiastically recommend a visit to The Mill in Batley.

Happy Shopping :)
