Orange Glow Energy - Biddenham

38 Darlow Drive, Biddenham, Bedford, Bedfordshire MK40 4AY

11-02-2012

A bit of history first, I live in a 1936 house with a boiler which was 19yrs old which had become noisy in operation and a nightmare to get the correct temp without constantly going out to the garage to adjust etc.
The last two winters of living in the property has been a tense affair not knowing if the boiler would survive.
I decided towards the end of 2011 we would have the boiler changed, I had an idea what I wanted so did some research before approaching any boiler installers.
I had decided on a Worcester Bosch and contacted some trading standards approved installers for quotes and their ideas on how they were going to overcome the hurdles described next.
This is were the fun begins and how Orange Glow really came into the frame.
The boiler is sited in the garage and so the new one was also to be but the challenge was what to do and how with the waste condensate as at that time I had just had laid a Slate Patio and had alloy seamless guttering all around the house installed, the condensate is acidic so I did not want a maze of pipes running around the side of the house and into drains etc nor did I want the acidic condensate reacting with the alloy guttering.
From the contractors I had asked to quote there were some wacky ideas like digging part of my concrete garage floor up to house limestone chippings for a soak away to having a maze of pipe ideas running along the side of the house making it look rather horrible.
I had a meeting with Henk and Andrew and gave them the requirement all the other contractors had been told.
They came up with a fantastic but quite simple concept in neutralising the condensate and pumping it upwards within the garage roof area and out into the guttering.
I received the quote, which was very competitive against the other contractor’s quotes.
I decided on a Viessmann 200 boiler as opposed to a Bosch Worcester as I felt this got the edge due to its latest technology and stainless heat exchanger.
We spoke about the latest boiler technology and outside temperature weather compensator sensors etc which feedback info to the boiler to make fine temp adjustments to the inside of the house, as I write this feedback review it is minus 9 outside and the house is extremely comfortable in all rooms.
The boiler was fitted on the 5th Jan 2012 and both Henk & Andrew stayed on site until 21.00 making sure we had at least heat for the house, they returned the next day to finish the install to an extremely high standard.
The boiler install was audited by gas safe org on the 19th Jan and a building regulations certificate was issued shortly after.
I received a file containing all relevant instruction manuals etc and found Orange Glow had even registered all the items for warranty with the respective companies used.
A truly great service has been received and I would not hesitate in recommending them in future to anybody looking for their services.
