Recently re-opened as a 'Hungry Horse' pub. Reasonably priced and decent pub grub. Offers on most days, such as 2 meals for £8.49, or kids eat free etc. Worth a look.

Decent pub grub and reasonably priced. Ate here last week and was very impressed with the hand-battered fish and chips! Will definitely be eating here again.

Very good value (2 meals for £10 all day every day). Decent food, eaten here a few times lately and not had a bad meal yet. Definitely worth a look for an inexpensive mid-week tea.

jonsut found the new sizzler menu misleading & a bit of a con, paid £11.99 ordered rump steak sizzler king size xl what i got was 2 small steaks on top of each other + chips, you have to pay extra for tom mushroom onion rings etc that most other places include in a steak meal, i have been going here for a long time, but wont be returning again or recommending it to any one else.

Cheap pub grub. The food is quite good and the service is quick. Okay for a weekday tea with the Steak and Curry nights.

It's a couple of years since we went here, but the food and service were excellent. I asked for my duck main course well done, and it came too rare for me, but they re-cooked it without any fuss. Quite expensive, but definitely worth it for a special occasion. Remember to book well in advance for a weekend though!

Passage To India - Whitby

Had 2 take-aways from here this year, on separate occasions while staying near Whitby. The first was enjoyable (although we were both quite tipsy!), however the second was disappointing. My husband is a bit of a wimp when it comes to spicy food, but even he thought both curries were lacking. Will probably try somewhere else next time.

3 of us ate in the restaurant a few weeks ago. Friendly, fast service. Medium-sized portions (with crinkle cut chips - but still homemade!). Enjoyable and reasonably priced for the area - my in-law's particularly like the OAP option!

Got take-away fish and chips last time we were in Whitby. They only had one full-size fish ready, but asked if we were happy to have two small pieces on one of them. Very large portions - me and my husband could have easily shared the chips. Very nice - will definitely be going again!
