The Cuban is nestled nicely inside the Stables Market, in a large cavernour bar, which somehow retains a nice cosy feeling, probably through the dark panelling and nice booth seating.
Good food, which is of the tapas variety. In the week, I think Wednesdays judging by the other reviews, they have a band, which is really good.
This place is best in summer when the outside area enjoys a nice pool of light amongst the market stalls, and the different Camden makret types all congregate. Good for people watching with a nice glass of white wine, i feel.
A nice bar sitting between the dirty pubs and the poncey bars.

The Lock Tavern has a very relaxed, chilled atmosphere, especially on a weekday. I really like the decor as well, nice big tables and comfy sofas.
However, the service can be a little slow, which is annoying. No one likes waiting 15 minutes for their bill!
At the weekend it becomes something else entirely. If you fancy a big night out with good music, and packs of people, then this is your place. All the usual camden types can be seen here, strutting their stuff! And a terrace upstairs for smoking.
The food is good but a little over priced.

A middle of the road pub in Camden, literally. Half way between the tube and the lock. Its slightly soulless and the stairs up the roof terrace feel like you’re ascending to some crack den. And the terrace itself is quite grotty. On a windy day it is possible to be garrotted by the terrace roofing.
Having said these nasty things, the food is cheap and tasty enough for the price. A great pub for a lunch break, because the food always comes quickly. Th two for one lunch menu is good, although not as good as it used to be!
Best thing to do is not expect much and you will be pleasantly satisfied. -

The Hawley Arms often gets a bad reputation for being full of idiot trendy types trying to sleep with famous people who aren’t actually there (well, not at the weekend anyway).
Which is true. But not entirely. If you go in the week, the clientele is local Camden workers, and granted a few annoying trendy types, but nothing too offensive!
It is easy to forget that the people working here are brilliant, so friendly and helpful. The food is awesome and VERY reasonable prices. The atmosphere has changed a little, particularly upstairs, but dammit they only just rebuilt it so give it a chance!
Long live the Hawley Arms (on a weekday).

Working in Camden, it is always exciting when a new restaurant opens. This was particularly true when the gross Arizona bar was replaced by the Diner, at a time when Camden was sorely missing the Hawley Arms.
Oh what a disappointment the Diner turned out to be. The building itself is excellent with a very tasteful and comfy roof terrace. But sadly the food is lacklustre and over priced. If they would just knock their prices down and improve the quality, I would love to go back. But £4 for a milkshake is terrible.
Thankfully the Hawley is back, for affordable tasy grub. And if you fancy splashing the cash, head to Hache on Inverness Street for a delicious burger.
Diner: Must try harder. Please try harder.

As much as I begrudge spending more than a tenner on a burger, there is something about Hache’s burgers that makes it seem acceptable. There are tons of choices on the menu, some of which are very experimental and different. Whichever one you choose, be sure you will be served with delicious, succulent, tasty meat. It puts other burger eateries to shame. And the onion rings are massive and perfectly crispy. And the chips or fried are both done to perfection. None of that burnt oil rubbish here.
I wonder if the staff could be more helpful / quicker. Waiting to pay for 15 minutes on your lunch break is not ideal.
Recommended for that payday burger treat.
