Sharon Robertson Hair - Edinburgh

3 Glanville Place, Stockbridge, Edinburgh, Scotland EH3 6SZ

24-08-2011

Sharon has styled my hair 3 times now, and I would highly recommend a visit to her. Not only does she do a superb cut (I have long layered hair) and great highlights, she also gives exellent advice. Sharon really took the time to talk me through colour options, as well as giving fantastic information for ‘at home’ upkeep of colour. Sharon herself is lovely, and the salon is open, airy and great for watching what’s going on outside in Stockbridge! The salon caters to all ages and has none of the pretention, but still all of the quality, of some of the other well known Edinburgh salons.

Definitely one to check out.

sharonrobertson2 Thanks so much!!!
Its like getting a big HUG!!
Really appreciate you taking the time

Threadbare - Edinburgh

Broughton Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH3 6PE

04-05-2008

Amazing little shop, well worth visiting. Lovely staff and lots of interesting vintage pieces (well picked) and also some new pieces that they manufacture at the shop too. If you like eclectic and unusual clothes, this place is a superb find!

Mezz Bar - Edinburgh

49 London Street, Broughton, Edinburgh, Scotland EH3 6LX

29-04-2008

A comfortable bar, serving lovely bar food such as nachos, pasta, and burgers. You can hire the upstairs area if you have a group of friends or just relax in some of the large comfortable seats with a freshly made coffee or a nice glass of wine. The bar offers free wifi also which is always an added bonus for a relaxing afternoon.

Joey D - Edinburgh

54 Broughton Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH1 3SA

29-04-2008

An unusual designer store on Broughton Street. The fashion designer Joey D works from here creating interesting pieces made from different fabrics and different items of clothing merged together to create something unique. Not cheap, but definitely worth a look for something different!

Blind Beggar - Edinburgh

97 - 99 Broughton Road, Edinburgh, Scotland EH7 4EG

29-04-2008

Set in an ‘out of the way’ location, this bar is actually a great find if you live in the area, or stumble upon it! A rock bar with a biker edge to it, but still friendly and not intimidating as some can be! Cheap drinks and decent surrounds make this bar worth checking out if you want a change from the other few edinburgh rock bars.

Crombie's of Edinburgh - Edinburgh

97 Broughton Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH1 3RZ

29-04-2008

A very popular (prepare to queue on a weekend) shop on Broughton Street. Famous for its gorgeous sausages, which come in interesting flavours such as Wild Boar, Brandy and Apricot, Lucifers Matchsticks, Boerwors, Duck a l’orange, and the more traditional pork sausages also. As well as sausages they offer a full butcher service with lovely steaks, stuffed chicken breasts, pies, and other freshly made food. Prices are not cheap but the quality is evident. Tasty stuff!

Ndebele - Edinburgh

57 Home Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH3 9JP

29-04-2008

A sandwich shop offering very yummy sandwiches, on thick sliced bread, with a variety of interesting fillings and great combinations of taste - eg ostrich and special chutney, chicken with avocado and harissa, and much more. They also sell food stuffs imported from South Africa, as the shop itself is run by a South African lady. You can sit in or take away and I highly recommend you to pop in for lunch if you are in the Tollcross area!

The Horseshoe Bar - Edinburgh

362 Leith Walk, Edinburgh, Scotland EH6 5BR

29-04-2008

It’s not fancy, but the drinks here are so cheap that it doesn’t matter. TV screens show sports, and the regulars tend to sit at the bar, but they will be friendly and try to chat with you too. It has a friendly atmosphere and comfortable seats, which in my opinion makes it a great place for midweek drinks with friends that won’t break the bank!

Space.NK Apothecary - Edinburgh

30 St. Andrews Square, Edinburgh, Scotland EH2 2AD

29-04-2008

Space NK has a branch within Harvey Nichols and also one on George Street. IF you are someone who likes your beauty products you will love this shop. They have all the latest goodies from big names such as Kielhs, Stila, Bumble and Bumble, Chantecaille, By Terry and many more. The staff are very helpful, and if you want something that they do not have, they will make every effort to order things in for you. Space NK has their own brand of products also and they usually give you a little free sample when you buy anything, which is nice!

Centraal - Edinburgh

32 West Nicolson Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH8 9DD

29-04-2008

Walking down the stairs takes you into a haven of leather, wood and chrome. This cosy yet stylish bar serves lovely food all day which you can either eat at the bar tables whilst nestling in to the comfy leather sofas, or you can eat at the restaurant tables towards the read of the bar. The list of international beers and lagers is endless. Centraal has an extraordinary choice of bottled and draft beer, definitely a bar for the beer lover!
