There are not many parks in London better than brockwell. It's got it all, lido tennis great playground, now 2 cafes great trees and hills. The walled garden is a beauty. Views of londons skyline. Lambeth country show in July and all south londons fireworks in November. Love it.

Love their sourdough (they told me the baker learnt his trade in marthas vinyard) but ouch is that expensive bread!!

Very good pizza, limited choice of toppings but good quality ; chorizo is excellent gets very busy at weekend but worth an early lunch/ queue

We went to Asmara the other night, first time I had ethopian food but my partner lived there years ago... I really loved it various spicy and mild stews served on sour pancakes called injera, peel off some pancake, grab some stew and eat - very direct and delicious!!
The ( slightly surly) waiter came round with incense/ burning coffee every now and then, nice atmosphere!

this cafe just opened a few months ago and makes a great addition to herne hill. the coffee is excellent, the staff very friendly and the food good - i had a venison burger which was lovely. its just great to have the view over the lido
