Brixton is famous for its outdoor and indoor markets. Their location right next to the Brixton Tube and on many major bus routes, makes getting there easy.

Pope's Road and Brixton Station Road are the other two street market areas. The unparalleled range of goods available reflects the diversity of those that live and work in Brixton. Many shoppers are attracted to the markets knowing that they will be able to find specialist food and other items that are difficult to source elsewhere. The outdoor market is open Monday to Saturday, with a half day on Wednesday.

Brixton Market is home to one of Europe's biggest collections of Afro-Caribbean foods and produce, serving up West Indian specialties such as breadfruit, plantain, flying fish and fresh meats. There are also the usual stalls you would expect to find in any London market selling clothing, music, make up, flowers and the like.
