Llanishen Antiques - Cardiff

26 Crwys Road, Cardiff, Wales CF24 4NL

23-02-2011

A very nice little antique shop with lots to look at, situated in an area where it might be a little tricky to park. The shop has a good mix of items from mirrors and furniture to pieces of vintage jewellery although they don't appear to have regular opening times so you might find them closed

andy280685 Check out my new website. www.reunitems.com. we are currently looking for potential sellers, like yourself, to build up the database with retro, genealogical, antiques and collectible items. it opens on the 9th of may, and is free for all insertions until the 31st of may, meening 100% profit for you.

A Vintage Affair - Cardiff

26 Morgan Arcade, Cardiff, Wales CF10 1AF

One of only 4 vintage stores in Cardiff this store has a good mix of items and a nice atmosphere. The shop is quite spacious and easy to get around and has the feel of an old attic that you could rummage around looking for treasures. Very nice pieces of vintage lace, jewellery etc, I bought a very nice pair of earings there, worth a visit!

The Pumping Station - Cardiff

Penarth Road, Cardiff, Wales CF11 8UP

A great place to spend a couple of hours if you like vintage, unusuall, pre loved items with a history. Everything from furniture, mirrors, boudoir items, dinky cars, lamp shades, military memorabilia, door knobs, stair rods, fire places, clothing and old picture frames. They even have what I am led to believe the origional Clarence the cross eyed lion from Dactari for those who can remember, now standing in a large glass case. The cafe on the lower ground serves snacks and drinks so you can take a break if your there a while and then continue with your browsing. The whole place is over 3 floors and you really need to see everything, ideal for a Sunday something to do trip. My only criticism is that the stall owners are often not around which makes it difficult to ask questions and buy things.

IKEA - Cardiff

IKEA Cardiff Ferry Road, Grangetown, Cardiff, Wales CF11 0JR

There wer some very nice items at good prices as I remember, I only went there twice because the experience was not a good one. I wandered around for ages trying to find my way out. Eventually I found a member of staff, apparently there are a few even though they seem to all be in the stock room or somewhere other than the shop floor. By the time I found someone I was very irritated and knew I wouldn't shop there again. I asked for the way out and as I did I could hear other people behind me discussing how annoying the layout was, one man suggested we had been locked in deliberately and seemed to share my annoyance. I did go back months later to see if I felt any different and I'm afraid my second visit was no better than my first. Anything good about Ikea was negated by the overall experience.

Spillers Records - Cardiff

36 The Hayes, Cardiff, Wales CF10 1AJ

The only place in Cardiff where I can get the kind of music I like, I have been using this shop since I was 15 yrs old. The staff have the same knowledge of music as the London cab driver has of London, if they don't have it then they can get it. Spillers were the first in Cardiff to provide the means of listening before you buy. A fantastic shop which is as much a part of Cardiff as the Millenium stadium. A business owner myself now I appreciate even more the expertise and uniqueness of this fantastic little shop. No words could reccommend this shop enough, if you are from outside Cardiff and a music lover you can't pass up thechance to visit!!

MarioUD Well a smal note to say that SPILLERS is no longer based in The Hayes but has been moved elsewhere...
