Recently supported by attending a Military Themed Burlesque Event hosted by Veronique & The Vixens at The R.M.A. Tavern, Eastney.  It was an all day Event, day - How to achieve the 'vintage look', phot shot & afternoon tea, evening - The Burlesque Show, supported by Toytown & Gloria Miller, raffle.

Good fun, entertaining.

Nairn is great as there is types of Beaches plus the River Nairn that flows down into the sea.

To the left of the Harbour the beach is a pebble beach, however the further you walk along towards one of the Golf Clubs it has big flat slate looking rocks, great for rock pools.  On the right of the harbour over the bridge, on that side you also have the caravan park, is a beautiful sandy beach with dunes, which then morphs into the Culbin Sands.  You do have to watch yourself onto Culbin Sands, stinky areas.

Charity Fundraising for The RN RM Widows association (www.rnrmwidowsassociation.org) -  During the day was a picture shoot & afternoon tea (did not attend), night was a Military themed Burlesque show by Veronique & the Vixens, also included a set by Toytown (www.toytownband.com) & Glora Miller, raffle, competitions.  The event was organised by Miss V & Vixens.

Good  fun, for a good cause. A young girl actually said it was nice to see women with not the perfect body having the confidence & enjoy Burlesque.  I would actually go to a full on Burlesque show now.

Feel good atmosphere soon as you walked through the door, friendly, happy Barmaid (who had dressed for the occasion also).

Started with Jhinga Chilli £3.65 -3 large tiger king prawns which enjoyed, however they do come with half the shell on. Mains – Me, Tunaball Bhuna, chose fairly hot strength, moist lamb balls, great tasting sauce, nice heat, Peshwari Nan, nice fluffy & soft, Other Half – Raj Naga Chicken, hot even for Hubby’s taste, Garlic Nan, side dish – Balti Potato (Recommended, it was that or Balti Mushrooms), tasty & soft, onion salad (free) & mint sauce.

Will definitely be visiting again. Lovely after taste, clean tasting palate. Friendly Staff.

Was shut for a couple of weeks re-opened on the 7 March, as yet not tried, so cannot comment, hence stars not changed up or hope not going down.

Afraid taken 2 stars away this visit was not great, chicken tikka dhansak was the tangist I have ever tasted, chicken slightly overlooked, 1 out of the 4 onion bhaji was ok the rest where really crispy, nan bread was flat & dry. Husband was disappointed in his jalfrezi Balti. having said that will give another go as it may have been a 1 off, hope so.

Recommend the Teen Mirchi Chicken, this time not so keen on the pershwari nan had a banana taste, nice thickness though, onion bhaji nice & crispy.

Nice taste & heat, jalfrezi good taste & heat, pershwari & keen nam very good – large, onion bhaji little bit dry had better, likewise mint sauce.

A Burger with an extra topping (however they did forget the creamy coleslaw), enjoyed the burger, other half has Surf & Turf, he said it was okay, cost £14.97.

Pleasant inside, nicely decorated, a few tables & chairs outside, friendly/pleasant Staff.

Friday is 3 cupcakes for the price of 2.

Cake Designer. I think instead of cards to cheer my friends up it will be a Charlie's Cupcake! Now tried a vanilla cupcake (other half said 'smelled like ice cream') plainish, but still nice, a banoffee which was scrummy and a raspberry which was scrummy also. I did forget to say that in the middle there is a filling. The flavours are so delicate, cream icing is great, not too sickly like some cupcakes can be.

Even though most of the business is ordering of cakes, Birthday, Celebrations, etc, they do have a small selection of beautiful cupcakes.  Today I went for the lemon cupcake, was drawn by the lovely daisy flower on the top, just a hint of lemon, YUMMY!  There was a vanilla, rocky road topped high with rocky road pieces, gingerbread which had a miniature gingerbread man on top (cute), there was a couple of others, but these were the ones that caught my eye. I will definitely be treating myself in the future, also great for gifts to cheer someone up, you could not smile at the daisy lemon cupcake.

Well stocked, good variation of products, good bargains.  Discount given if you have a Defence Forces Discount Card, you get a specific Iceland card.

I have finally had a look at the wee shop to the left as you go through the doors.  On the right is the cafe.  The cafe seems a pleasant place for a cuppa.  I am not quite sure about the 3 stars, it should be less as there is not a lot of stock, however it could be 3/4 due to the quality & prices of the items on display?

Another year & stop off on the back from Twickenham, upped from 3 to 4 stars, still expensive, but it is Winchester, a lot more friendly this year. They could have been expecting us or maybe we were not as rowdy this year!


Not a cheap place to have a drink, but it is Winchester, for a number of years this has been a stop off point on the way back from the Navy/Army Rugby match at Twickenham. The last two years have not been overly friendly, but there are new people runining it now and I do not suppose a coach load of Fans on a Saturday night is everyone's joy, but it is only once a year. They actually have a Fish & Chip carry out service, which I think if due to the fact that the Fish & Chip Shop a couple of doors down has not been there for a while.
