Not a cheap place to have a drink, but it is Winchester, for a number of years this has been a stop off point on the way back from the Navy/Army Rugby match at Twickenham. The last two years have not been overly friendly, but there are new people runining it now and I do not suppose a coach load of Fans on a Saturday night is everyone’s joy, but it is only once a year.

They actually have a Fish & Chip carry out service, which I think if due to the fact that the Fish & Chip Shop a couple of doors down has not been there for a while.

Just had a drink in the small library, the view was not good due to the weather. Fairly quite, but had not been here for a number of years, carparking is a lot easier, which is across the road. Lovely atmosphere as soon as you walked through the door, which was great as it was raining non-stop which had been doing for days, friendly Staff. The menu looked okay, nothing extra special, would go back in the future to sample the food, but on a nicer day for the great view from the large windows, across the water.

I myself as yet not tried this Butchers, however my Husband has, he was recommended by a friend.

He purchased Faggots, not my cup of tea, but he really enjoyed them and will be buying more in the future.

I have tried the unsmoked and smoked bacon from here, nice and thick like what bacon should be like, tasty. If having a bacon sarnie remember to cut a bit of the rind off as the ends are really thick and all the bacon will come out of the sarnie when you take a bite.

Afraid to say that my Husband has tried their Faggots and he was not impressed, did not like at all.

However will try other produce from here.

They have expanded their menu to include Goan Curries. I very much enjoyed a Chicken Tikka Dhansk, Garlic Nan & Cauliflower Bhaji’s, very good value for money, could not eat all. They say 45 mins, however they were extremely quick on delivery, friendl, polit Delivery Man. My other half had Chicken Tikka Garlic Chilli Balti, Keem Nan which he very much enjoyed also.

I have only given a 3 star for now, but once I have eaten there I am sure it will be going up! Was looking after friend’s dog, I had never actually been to this part of Browndown before. I nipped in for a drink and the toilet, I was very surprised at the menu – Sea Bass, New Potatoes and Stir Fried Veg for just under £7.00, homemade Raspberry and Chocolate Brownies, didn’t catch the price. Three professional Chefs, friendly Counter Staff. There is a quite a big area outside, in fact bigger than inside with a lovely view of the water. I will definitely be visiting and sampling the menu. You have to pay for parking and Gosport are very hot especially in the Summer for checking that you have paid. Also next door is the Diving Museum which I think has opened up fairly recently.

Mar 2012 – Recently purchased a beautiful brooch for my Hairdresser, a necklace & ring for a friend as Birthday presents. Heard from friend you loves her present. Will definitely purchase in future, still extremely reasonable priced.l

Dec 2011 – First came across a brooch a colleague was wearing which
I really liked. Second time was at Craft Boutique Fayre at Portsmouth Guildhall. Purchased a necklace for my sister, which I am really tempted too keep for me & a coaster.

On show necklaces, cuff links, coasters, hanging/Christmas ornaments, pictures, clock.

Most definitely will check out again

Coming from Hampshire, I visit Sainsburys & I do like shopping there. This is not badly stocked & makes a change from the 2 Co-Ops in Nairn. Some people find them expensive, but the quality is there.

Good variety/selections of goods, small selection of fresh/frozen items, this includes local produced also. Locals would find some items a bit on the expensive side, however seen same items more expensive in Hampshire. Always check out when in area visiting relatives.

Next door is a nice Farm Shop, on other side is a Furniture Shop & round the corner is a Flooring Specialist.
