Boston Aesthetics Clinic is around the corner from Bayswater station, and a short walk from Queenway station. There are two premises on Moscow Road; one is the reception with various treatment rooms, the other is a 20 secs walk away where the laser hair removal treatments take place.
I’ve visted on and off for the last few years (as the hair seemed to grow back…but I gave them the benefit of the doubt…how wrong I was!), using the 'Cool Glide’ laser system.
Unfortunately laser hair removal lasers don’t work for black skins as the skin pigment absorbs the laser light, instead of the hair, which makes it ineffective.
Well, I’m going to get to the point: lasering at any salon is a God send, but the service and skills at Boston are ATROCIOUS!
Only ice packs are provided (my new place has a special air conditioning unit so you don’t feel a thing!) to ease the discomfort of the laser so you do really have to be from hard stock to get through it! The last time I did my lower legs I was panting so much, it gave me a good idea of what I would have to do to control my breathing if I ever experienced child-birth!
And there are SO many different 'technicians’ who carry out the treatment. I must have had at least ten different ladies, each from Eastern Europe, so I do wonder why not a single native English person is employed…
I’ve had my upper lip burnt, and have scars on my underarms and legs because of the incompetence of the staff.
Don’t be fooled by the promotions the salon runs to get clients in, like I was. I’d rather pay that little bit more than be scarred again - in fact, I’d rather still have the hair (at least you can shave it!) than be scarred. You’re taking a risk each time you visit this place.
When I complained, I was ignored, and told it was my fault for turning up late so the 'nurse’ had to do the session faster than normal. In fact, the machine had broken in my treatment room and I had to be transferred to another, hence why the session took longer than normal, not because I was late!
How extremely rude. They were practically laughing in my face!
And when I asked to speak to the owner, James OMahony, he refused to speak to me! Thus I wrote in, demanding all details held on me and explaining how flawed their service is. He didn’t care. Seems some people are more interested in profit than providing a reasonable service and care for their clients.
BEWARE!

Located behind Oxford Street, practically at the back of Selfridges and Debenhams is this very large branch of the popular restaurant chain.
Unfortunately I’ve found the staff to often be quite abrupt and impolite, plus they aren’t helpful when it comes to making special requests for your food (i.e. asking for no mushrooms in a dish, I’m told no can do, when other Zizzis are more considerate).
In fact, once my friend was brought her food cold. She highlighted this and it was warmed up and we were given free coffee, but this wasn’t very professional. Quite sloppy, actually.
Nonetheless, I love the brushetta genovese and really recommend it, there’s nothing like the lovely chicken in pesto on lightly toasted bread.
Also the chicken rissotto is nice, and the lasagne’s not too bad either.
Sure, c.£9 for a dish can be a burden on your wallet, but if you dine here on a day when special offers such as 2for1 meals is on, it really is a hell of a bargain.

Located near The Glades Shopping Centre (Boots entrance) is this really popular branch of the top restaurant chain. It’s very, very busy in the evenings and you’re lucky to get a table then (especially if they don’t open up the upstairs seating area), so I’d suggest calling up and booking a table beforehand.
The service is good and efficient. I wouldn’t say it’s friendly but the job gets done!
I recommend the mozzarella garlic bread, it is gorgeous. Plus the Pollo Pesto (Chicken and pasta in pesto sauce) and Lasagne are incredibly tasty.
The only dessert I like is the chocolate fudge cake, but I find that really filling so tend to skip it.
Sure, c.£8 for a dish can be a burden on your wallet, but if you dine here on a day when special offers such as 2for1 meals is on, it really is a hell of a bargain.

Located a short walk from Charing Cross station is this really popular branch of the top restaurant chain. It’s very, very busy in the evenings and you’re lucky to get a table then, so I’d suggest calling up and booking a table beforehand. At lunchtime it’s a lot more empty and relaxed.

Once they even let us have it as take away as I was full but couldn’t leave without a portion! And a bailey’s coffee to finish with is perfect.

Use the residential streets for parking, otherwise it’s pay and display on the high street
