Completely agree with previous reviewer Sara at Anne Summers; this hotel is excellent value for spacious, modern, clean and well appointed rooms with all mod cons (including a pair of GHDs, whatever they are, for the ladies according to Sara – daren’t think).
Friendly helpful and efficient staff and check in. Free Wi-Fi in lounge area and free cabled internet access in the rooms.
Really nice full breakfast, even choice of hot porridge (plain with no sugar, just right), wide selection of fresh fruits, juices, cold buffet and of course full English from the self service trays. (Self service can sometimes be dried out, tired but not here – all freshly cooked and topped up constantly with piping hot replacements including delicious black pudding, herb sausages and succulent portobello mushrooms. You won’t need another meal for a week after that lot.)
Tumble out of the back entrance of Manchester Piccadilly railway station, across the road and under the bridge, there it is, couldn’t be closer to scuttle through the Manchester rain – excellent, highly recommended.

A mountainous pile of chips and an obscenely large sausage draped across the top - this has to be great value. Cup of tea for a £1. Fantastic.
Get there early though, say 3 hours before kick off otherwise no chance.
A great atmosphere, quick, bright, amiable (with a slight hint of menace, so partisan and with such fanatical history), clean, good value and warm.
Just the job on an icy winter day with prospect of sitting 2 hours in the chilled air stream (OK if they score, there might be a bit of jumping about, but marrow freezing otherwise.)
Look at all the signed photos (they're screwed tight to the wall, so don't get any ideas) - chat to the cognoscenti (remember to be wearing the right colours of course, before engaging!).
Excellent.

Leaftop You’ll love it Limoncina, a peculiarly Northern delicacy, just hope you are not squeamish! ;-)

Leaftop Sounds nasty, Limoncina! Hope you don’t have nightmares! If you do, just imagine the pig won the battle in the end and ate the farmers! ;-)
