H&M - Swindon

64-72 Regent Street, Swindon SN1 1JY

02-06-2009

Clothes shop in the centre of Town.
H&M have quite a variety of different styles. They’re cheaper than a lot of their competitors and do a wide range of fashionable clothes. The store is nice and big and on two floors. They have a large childrens range and they also do mens clothes. The staff are always very friendly and helpful. I always find their bras etc are very good and good value for money!

The Windmill - Swindon

Village Centre, Freshbrook, Swindon SN5 8LY

02-06-2009

The Windmill is a pub in West Swindon Freshbrook. Very friendly staff and the drinks are cheap. There is plenty of seating area and they have a couple of pool tables. There is also a garden area for those nice summer days! There is always a friendly atmosphere. They done the pub out a couple of years ago and there was a great improvement then. It is quite large and easy to get to and has a car park, it’s located next to a tescos.
All round good pub and friendly service.

Specsavers Opticians - Swindon

62-63 Regent Street, Swindon SN1 1JS

02-06-2009

I get both glasses and contact lenses from Specsavers. I think their prices are really good and all the staff are really helpful. I’ve had only one bad experience there and that was when I had a problem with my contacts. I saw the optician and I had a problem with one of my eyes, I told him I got hayfever and he said the infection was down to tablets I was taking for my hayfever. Even though this was not the case as I hadn’t started them yet and he wouldn’t examine me any further. The lady I saw after that was very friendly and actually listened to what I had to say and changed my contacts for me!

Mcdonalds - Swindon

Orbital shopping Park, Thamesdown Way, Swindon SN25 4AN

02-06-2009

Ideally located fast food restaurant. However, if you want good service I wouldn’t go to this particular McDonalds. The drive thru is usually ok, however, if you go inside the staff aren’t very helpful. I was stood waiting at the counter whilst the staff were messing about and walking back and fourth trying to do other things except serve for about 10 minutes. I have also received the wrong food on a number of occasions. It seems like they can’t understand your order. Something simple like a quater pounder without cheese is too hard and even though they take longer to get the burger ready without cheese, I usually receive it with the cheese! One in Greenbridge is better.

Frankie & Benny's - Swindon

Unit 19 Greenbridge Retail Park, Garrard Way, Swindon SN3 3SQ

02-06-2009

I like to treat myself every now and then and a good way to do it is by going out for a nice meal to Frankie and Benny’s. It’s an italian/american restaurant. It has nice food and great for all the family. I would recommend booking if you don’t want to have to wait on a busy evening like a Friday or Saturday night. Also if you do go on a saturday night you might want to get a lift as I spent about 15 minutes trying to find a parking space and ended up parking by the pC world on the other side of the centre! I’ve never had a problem with the food though and service is usually quite good.

The Pear Tree at Purton - Purton

Church End, Purton, Swindon SN5 4EB

02-06-2009

The Pear Tree at Purton is a restaurant / hotel.
This is what I would call “posh”. Not usually the kind of place I would go for as I didn’t really know what half the menu was! Although, when my food came out I did thoroughly enjoy it. The staff are very friendly and the Gentleman who owns the place is more than willing to share the history of it with you if you just ask him. The Pear Tree is surrounded by lovely grounds and you can have a lovely view whilst eating your meal. I think for the service and quality of your food the price is quite good.

The Link Centre - Westlea

Whitehill Way, Swindon SN5 7DL

02-06-2009

The link centre has a great variety of different leisure activities. Some of these include the Ice rink, gym, Swimming, climbing wall and even 5 a side football. There is easy access to the link centre and it is located right next to the west swindon Asda. Plenty of parking and it does have disabled access. You can also get a great discount if you have a swindon card or join up the the gym (gives you access to other gyms like oasis). Where you can go ice skating for free!

Oasis Leisure Centre - Swindon

North Star Avenue, Swindon SN2 1EP

02-06-2009

When most people think of Oasis they usually just think about the swimming pool. Although the pool is great and a lot of fun, Oasis has a lot more to offer, they have gym classes such as body combat which is great fun and they also have halls for different activities. We have had many childrens work christmas parties here! It is a huge place with lots of activities. I would definitely recommend a visit

Wyvern Theatre - Swindon

Theatre Square, Swindon SN1 1QN

02-06-2009

I hadn’t been to the wyvern theatre since I was a little girl so when I was going back just a few weeks ago I really didn’t expect too much. However, I was pleasently surprised. I thought the lounge area was very relaxed and a nice way to begin the show. The drinks were reasonable and it didn’t seem like it was getting too packed. The actual theatre itself isn’t that big but is plenty big enough for Swindon. I thought it was a great venue and well worth a visit.

Thorpe Park - Chertsey

Thorpe Park Staines Road, Staines Road, Chertsey, Surrey KT16 8PN

02-06-2009

I went to Thorpe park in April and had a great day out. It’s fun for all ages and improved so much over the last 10 years. I couldn’t believe how wet you got on tidal wave! I wish I brought a spare change of clothes with me. I think the driers are a bit of a rip off as they’re something like £3.00, Luckily we picked a really nice sunny day and dried off pretty quick. I loved the new saw ride and would def recommend anyone going to thorpe park to go on that! Loved it!!
