Thai Villa - Eastcote
181 Marsh Road, London HA5 5PB
24-01-2009
Thai Villa is a small restaurant, on Marsh Road, Pinner.
Tucked between a large restaurant, and a conveinence store, this little place is absolute foodie heaven!
Neatly arranged, with simple but effective decoration and lighting, Thai Villa is perfect for a romantic night for 2, or for a huge celebration group. Walk in to be seated, if up to 4, or phone ahead to reserve a table, the friendly staff will sort things out. Birthday? Let them know, and you get free desserts and other offerings made, to complete your night.
A nice array of food for vegetarians, and meat lovers alike, Thai Villa cater for all taste buds, from spice fearers, to those who enjoy a good kick of heat in their meals.
The food is priced superbly, and bills for 6 are around £100, for 3 courses each and drinks too.
They offer a takeaway service as well, which you collect, being teased all the way home with the aromas of fresh, tantilising food.
Gayton Library - Harrow
Gayton Road, London HA1 2YD
24-01-2009
Gayton Library has since moved from Gayton Road, round the corner to St John’s Road, and is now a 4 storey place. Each floor is laid out perfectly, with childrens books on ground, adult fiction on first and reference books on second, and lower ground, also holding a huge computer area for internet access. It has plenty of toilets, a coffee machine, and is really accessable for disabled users.
A Wide array of books, music and dvd’s makes it a nice place to visit. Having the childrens library away from the other sections, reduces the amount of interruptions you may get, and leaves the other floors peaceful and relaxing. There are loads of study tables on the second floor, and plenty of plug sockets for laptops etc.
Staff are friendly, and willing to help with any questions, and will order in anything that they may not have.
Overall, this is a brilliant Library, which since it’s overhaul, I visit on a frequent basis. Tis just what a library should be.
the junction - Harrow
Gayton Rd., London HA1 2DH
18-01-2009
Friendly bar staff, £1 a pint on Tuesday with a yellow card and a dj Thursday, plus seriously amusing Karaoke on Sundays. Expect queues Tuesdays if Students are back from uni, the place will be heaving!
A good selection of lagers, ciders and wines, plus spirits! Always full of laughter and easy place to make friends.
The Junction has a huge outdoor seating area, with heated lamps and cover from the rain. Outdoors telly’s and pool table mean it’s always buzzing, plus there are 2 more pool tables inside, all which are normally busy. Fruit machines are placed around inside, along with an itbox and shooting game/pinball/whatever is there at the time.
The upstairs bar is available for hire for private parties, but also hosts local music bands and various events.
Overall this is a great place, with a great vibe.
Tuesdays = outdoor bar open and BBQ is normally done, serving burgers, both meat and veggie. They also have an amazing menu at the bar, with the best array of food, always cooked to perfection, and deals on meals too.
