Sat right on the river this is a modern restaurant in an old building. English menus are available which helps and offers German food and local beer. Having chosen my soup arrived quickly with crisp croutons & a side of bread, plenty hot enough too, the service was prompt and friendly. My main course was the house special mixed grill with sausages, pork loin & steak all presented in a pan. I have enjoyed my meal and would happily eat here again when next I visit. Total bill was €26.60 and I had two beers as well. On my 2nd visit the staff were equally good and I had a steak this time with salad & fries €36 this time X = You’ve gotta be kidding me XX = trying but not reaching the standard expected or advertised XXX = achieving the standards expected/advertised however high that might be XXXX = they’re doing something special here, above expected standards of service XXXXX = WOW! you gotta go here!

The village of Winster is lovely and the building of the cottage is quite interesting but has an unfinished feel to it. With 6 bedrooms it will sleep 12 adults easily but we were 14 including 3 children. Our room had bare floorboards (the top floor is carpeted) and a bed that squeaked every time you moved. The child's bed at the bottom of ours was horrible and I'm quite glad my son didn't end up using it. The kitchen is basic and is dominated by the 10 seater table & gas cooker. The kitchen is well stocked and all you really need to bring is your food although the village shop is next door and has most things. We were defiantly expecting more than we got but we did have a good weekend.

Just across the road from the Grand Pier. I have eaten here a few times and the chips are crispy and not soggy at all. Always seems busy and excellent value it's a seaside chippy in the best way; through a hatch onto the street.

Best Western hotel. I Like this hotel and have stopped here several times. The rooms are large in the main building and have been given an Indian feel with the furniture, all quite acceptable. When I was here a room was being stripped and refit so an upgrade overall may be happening. Either way this is a nice hotel and is walking distance into the town. See my separate review of the restaurant as its well worth eating here and is South Indian cuisine, no balti's here.

UPDATE:This Award winning restaurant forming part of the Best Western Peacock hotel was as good the 2nd time as it was the first. There is almost nothing on the menu you’ll recognise and not a Balti in sight, could this be real Indian food? I ordered popadoms, chicken 65, lamb shank and rice with a Stella; all for £26. The menu is limited to 3 dishes for each meat type allowing the chef to maintain control of the quality – something he seems to have mastered. Very enjoyable, well presented with polite staff, well worth a return visit. On top of all this as a Best Western card holders get a discount. As road side cafés go this is a good one. I've stopped here several times for a full breakfast and enjoyed it every time. Next to a truck-stop and petrol station.

UPDATE-Situated on the outskirts of Paris in a residential and shopping area and importantly within 30 minutes of Disneyland Paris. I stopped for 2 nights in Jan’12 & in 2013 and found it to be a pleasent enough hotel. There is nothing outstanding about this hotel but the rooms were clean and the bed comfortable. Breakfast was typically french and a help-yourself-buffet style. Free Wi-Fi and charged (€10) underground parking. There are plenty of restaurants around the hotel but I cannot offer any recommendations but the hotel restaurant was nice and averagely priced.

This is a smart and stylish restaurant. Well lit and air conditioned but the music is a bit load. The usual pizza & pasta but there are steaks too, garlic bread-pizza size, calamari & a steak with a beer for £30; not bad. Presentation was excellent and well cooked with reasonable portions. I have to say the recommendation of filet Rossini was a good one, very nice. All in all better than I expected when I left the hotel, well done hence 4 stars.

With good reviews on Trip Advisor I thought it worth a go. They offer fixed price, all you can eat & al a carte menus with good prices I went AYCE. I had a cross section and all was promptly served and enjoyed, finished off with Chinese tea all for £24.

Visiting the seaside for the day. We popped in just for “something to eat”, 2 kids & 2 adults. It was very busy so we were downstairs near the door. It’s nothing to look at from the street really but the food on offer was really good with ample portions washed down with pots of tea. Importantly the kids enjoyed what they had and would be happy ro go back next time we visit Scarborough. The staff were helpful and the service quick for the number if orders being sent to the kitchen.
