Zin Noodles - Maze Hill

166 Trafalgar Road, London SE10 9TZ

02-11-2007

Zin Noodle Bar is without doubt worth moving to Greenwich for; because once you’ve been there you’ll wonder why you would ever want to eat anywhere else ever again!
Where do I start… The food is fantastic, it’s a combination on authentic Sushi and Shashimi, Japanese noodle and curry dishes and Chinese dishes. The prices are unbelievable; a 38 piece sushi box for £18 and almost all main dishes priced at £3.90 and if that wasn’t good enough, its bring your own booze, with no corking fee.
The staff are so nice and friendly, the place is spotlessly clean with tastefully minimal décor and there is a really friendly and unpretentious atmosphere.
Please note that they also have a take away service.
This little Noodle Bar puts Wagamama to shame!

Oliver's Music Bar - Greenwich

9 Nevada Street, Greenwich, London SE10 9JN

02-11-2007

Olivers is a seedy little Jazz bar, situated in the heart of Greenwich and ideal for those who want a late night drinking spot without venturing into Central London.
The bar is unsophisticated to say the least; one ‘barman’ with some coke bottles, spirit optics and a fridge full of beers, but this all adds to its charm.
The main room is low lit, with rawt iron tables and chairs and a New York Blues Bar feel to it. They almost always have live music on (usually Jazz) and its owner; Oliver can usually be found sharing a drink and a chat with customers.
Closing time is when the last people leave and I would thoroughly recommend it to South Londoners who want to impress their friends with an ‘I know this little place’ bar that as a passer bye you would never know existed.

Gordons Wine Bar - Embankment

47 Villiers Street, Charing Cross, London WC2N 6NE

02-11-2007

If you’re looking for a dark, cool, underground wine bar right in the centre of London, Gordon’s Wine Bar is your place. Its right on Embankment, it’s classy yet by no means snobby.
Down a steep set of stairs you’ll find a sultry, cavernous little bar with tables tucked away in little alcoves lit by candle light; the perfect place to bring a first date or relax with a few friends. There’s canteen style food, which is very quite basic but very comforting and stodgy.
Word to the wise-it can get very busy later on so an early arrival is advisable.
It’s the kind of bar that once you’ve got a table and a drink, you’re likely to be there for the duration as the atmosphere is great.
