Amo il Velvet. Ma ricordatevi di prenotare! L'atmosfera e il cibo sono fantastici. Si entra da Canal Street e l'arredamento non delude, è contemporaneo ma classico, e anche il cibo non è da meno, tutte le portate sono egualmente buone. Va bene sia per grandi tavolate o coppie, il Velvet è una parte essenziale della Manchester gay, ma visitatelo anche se non lo siete! Se arrivate presto, due portate a dodici sterline. Un affarone!

Si vous voulez déjeuner un dimanche dans un resto un cran au-dessus que lieu habituel, la Longlands est pour vous. De l'extérieur, il ressemble à un pub traditionnel mais pas à travers les portes et ça a été rénovées selon les standards les plus élevés. Mais si vous êtes venu pour la nourriture et non le décor, sachez que la dernière fois que j'ai mangé à la Longlands j'ai pris du rôti de côtes de boeuf et il a été superbe. Et il a été servi avec un pudding Yorkshire succulent et vraiment copieux. Mes amis ont pris un rôti d'agneau qui selon eux était excellent. Pour deux personnes, nous nous en sommes tirés pour £ 13, ce qui me paraissait très correct pour la qualité de la nourriture. Aucun de nous n'avait de place pour les puddings donc je ne peux pas faire de commentaires sur leur qualité.

J'adore Velvet. Faites juste attention à réserver une table à l'avance, vu qu'il y a beaucoup de monde à chaque fois que j'y vais. S'il y a tant de monde, c'est que la cuisine et l'atmosphère sont géniales. Vous entrez via un escalier sur Canal Street et le cadre ne vous décevra pas, accueillant mais moderne, et les plats sont à la hauteur. Je ne peux pas vous en recommander en un particulier vu que tous ceux que j'ai commandés ont été délicieux. Convenant tant à un dîner à deux ou à une fête, Velvet est un endroit important du quartier gay de Manchester, et mérite le détour si vous n'êtes pas gay. Il y a aussi une offre si vous réservez à l'avance, deux plats principaux pour une douzaine de livres. Une affaire vu la qualité de leur cuisine.

Me encanta Velvet. Sólo asegúrate de que si vas en hora punta hayas reservado mesa, ya que siempre que voy parece haber mucho ajetreo. Eso es porque la atmósfera y la decoración son brillantes. Entras por Canal Street bajando por las escaleras y la decoración no decepciona. Parece acogedora pero contemporánea. Y la comida encaja también. No puedo recomendar un plato en concreto porque todos los que he probado eran geniales. Sirve tanto para grandes fiestas como para cena íntima, Velvet es una parte esencial del Manchester Gay, y vale la pena visitarlo si no eres gay. Tienen una oferta para los que llegan pronto con dos platos por 12 libras. Regalado con la calidad de la comida.

All you can eat buffet - but would you want to eat it is the question? Situated on Church Street at the back of the now shut Woolies this is an all you can eat multi cuisine place - so instead of just chinese you can have, supposedly, pizza, pasta, carvery and salads. Now we visited there on a Saturday afternoon about 2pm and maybe this explains the stuff we found. The salad bar was none existent, the carvery - a hunk of what looked like beef looked dried out. Pizzas were hideous - think cheapo frozen ones and we didn’t even go anywhere near the pasta. The chinese options were ok - but nothing more than ok. Sometimes food isn’t about how much food can you shove down you for the cheapest amount possible - well for me it’s not. I won’t be going back, I’d rather spend a couple of quid on a butty and enjoy it then 6 quid on all you can eat low quality food.

Rubbish place

Great if you’re 18 and into the gay girl uniform of over styled hair, vest tops and low slung jeans. For anyone else it’s a nightmare. In my ever so humble opinion. I’m in my mid 30s, I’m not dead yet but I find that vanilla really does make me channel my mother and moue with disapproval.

Listen, if you’re hitting Manchester for the first time, you’re over 25 and you’re a woman give it a miss - you’ll get fed up of all the kids looking you up and down because you’re dressed wrong. Go to Coyotes instead where it is far less posey and much more relaxed.

Also - hey vanilla people! There are all shades and colours of lesbian you know - butch femme is perfectly acceptable, we’re not all andros.

Ah what can i say? Maybe I am too old for 'the scene’ but to be honest I am glad about that. I like to have a good time when I am out and for me Vanilla is not a good time.

There are numerous places to visit in the Village in Manchester and Coyotes is always on my list.

This is predominantly a womens bar though men are welcome and there are always a few gay boys wriggling their butts somewhere. But usually its crammed to the rafters with gay girls and women. It’s quite a young crowd but not half as posey as Vanilla is and you won’t feel out of place if you’re the other side of 30.
Music changes according to the night - can be dancey or souly or just plain cheesey.

And I’ll forever love it because when i was there one pride and had lost my voice the manager made me the best hot toddy ever to get me better and didnt even charge me - awwww. Now how much more can you ask for?

One gripe - those stairs - disabled access anyone?

If you’re buying from the Links of London or Mont Blanc range then it is perfectly possible to get something special for around 100 quid. I was very happy with my purchase.

they stock all the good watch brands - Omega, tag Heuer, Cartier etc etc. And they do sell some stuff second hand - although even then it’s probably out of most people’s normal bracket. but for that special purchase they have some gorgeous items and hey sometimes we have to treat ourselves. or our loved ones in this instance

I recently took my beemer in to get it’s first service and they couldn’t have been more helpful or professional.

All the staff were incredibly pleasant and while i waited for the car to come back i sat in a very pleasant area equipped with a flat screen TV, all the days newspapers and all the fresh tea and coffee I could drink.

I was asked to go and look at the tyres on my car as they needed replacing and the workshop was as unlike a garage as I have ever seen. Spotlessly clean, incredibly organised and all the staff were so helpful
