The Advocate Arms - Market Rasen

I have been to the Advocate on a number of occasions and have never been disappointed – five stars for a five star restaurant.
And don’t let the five star status make you think it is over priced. It’s very reasonable and relaxed – I pop down in my jeans.
There a la carte menu always causes me problems as there is so much mouth-watering food to choose from. The wine of the month and bin ends off the wine menu also offer great value and tasty drinking.
The bar menu is good too. Popped in for lunch one day, ordered the steak open snadwich and was amazed when an entire rump steak turned up in my sarnie.
Last year’s Christmas menu was good too, I went twice and took the office party there.
Plus they have free Wi-fi if you need to work and although I’ve never stayed in the hotel bit, I have seen the rooms which look rather nice.
Would certainly recommend!
scrummies - Horncastle

After a long day at work it was my turn to provide dinner for my other half.
I popped into Scrummies on a Friday night when they do Thai takeaway (also available on Thursday and Saturday night).
I ordered two startes and two thai curries, one green and one red. It was ready in under 15 minutes that they ask you to wait as it is all cooked fresh.
Really liked the crispy king prawns, spring rolls were entirely different from your bog standard ones, they had a really refreshing lime flavour running through them.
Best bit though – the two curries with Jasmine rice. I had half of the green and half of the red – both had delicately balanced flavours, but still had some spice to them (particuarly the green, which I think was my favourite).
Even better the curries with the rice included only cost £3.99 – bargain.
Highly recommended!
