Most impressive range of excellent pub grub at very reasonable prices in the bar.
Quite popular and they opened the restaurant luchtime to provide additional seating area - most accomodating. Please note the Google map location was wrong! This is at Rettendon Common NOT Ford End!!

This pub specialises in real ales (8) and malt whiskies (14) and has deservedly won Pub of the Year for the Chelmsford and Mid Essex CAMRA in 2010. Bar meals are reasonably priced and it is renowned for its range of speciality sausages (usually at least 10 varieties to chose from!). Sausages are served with baguettes, chips or flavoured (chose) mash. Visiting is always a thoroughly enjoyable experience with good banter - leaving is a problem!
