We bought this as a Groupon experience.  The room was packed full of people, over 20, all crowded round two small metal tables, which meant it was very hot (not ideal when dealing with chocolate) and when we did actually get to making some chocolates there was hardly any space to work in.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the chocolate making itself was restricted to decorating a chocolate bowl and making chocolate thins, which despite her telling us this was a new skill, I think if you gave anyone a bowl of chocolate and a spoon they could very quickly work out to make one without instruction.  As to truffles and ganache that was covered simply by verbal instruction - there was no opportunity to try this ourselves or even have a go at rolling a truffle.

The general working area was cluttered, messy and yes there was ingrained chocolate everywhere.  I've worked in food preparation premises before and that level of dirt would not have been tolerated and I'm highly surprised that they get away with it.

During the tasting session at the end, we didn't get to try any of the prize winning chocolates that she'd been boasting about for the previous 2 hours, and instead we had to identify the single source chocolate drops that she passed round in a small tub.

Overall, I learnt more, had a lot more fun and tasted nicer chocolate when I went to Cadbury World, which was cheaper and lasted longer!

Great fun place to go, the drinks are amazing, you won't get anything like them in the rest of Birmingham and certainly not at such reasonable prices. The menu is small but very tasty and food is served fresh and warm, the only problem can be trying to find a table to eat it at!

There are a range of theme evenings, the Wednesday night cinema is particularly good fun and who can argue with a free film, tasty drinks and a free bowl of popcorn?

I would give this place a five star review, except for the fact that the last couple of times I've been on a Friday night the gin parlour has been closed, as this is the only night the gin parlour is open for a huge variety of gin cocktails it was most disappointing.

Nice hotel. The rooms are capsule-like so there isn't much character but they're very clean and tidy.

I stayed for a conference that lasted a couple of days, there wasn't much space, even to put your suitcase down, so I wouldn't recommend it for a long stay but as it's cheap and accessible it was ideal for a short visit.

As other reviewers have said, there are no windows which is a little disconcerting at first. There is a webcam linked to the huge TV that shows you what the weather is like outside though. While I was there the films playing on the film channels were free to view. It's a shame I didn't spend longer in my room so that I could watch them as the selection was quite good!

Nettes Hotel. Die Zimmer sind kapselartig, also gibt es nicht allzu viel Charakter, aber sie sind sehr sauber und ordentlich. Ich war hier für eine Konferenz, die ein paar Tage dauerte, es gab nicht viel Platz, sogar um die Koffer ab zu stellen, so würde ich es für einen längeren Aufenthalt nicht empfehlen, aber da es billig und zugänglich ist, ist es für einen kurzen Besuch ideal. Wie auch andere Rezensenten gesagt haben, hat es keine Fenster, was ein wenig verwirrend auf den ersten Blick ist. Es gibt allerdings eine Web-Kamera, angeschlossen an einem großen Fernseher, wo das Wetter draußen gezeigt wird. Als ich dort war, konnte man die Filme in den Film-Kanälen kostenlos sehen. Es ist schade, dass ich nicht längere Zeit in meinem Zimmer verbracht habe, so dass ich sie nicht sehen konnte und die Auswahl war ziemlich gut!

Buen hotel. Las habitaciones son tipo cápsula, así que no tienen mucha personalidad, pero están limpias y ordenadas. Me quedé por una conferencia que duró un par de días, no había mucho espacio, siquiera para dejar la maleta,así que no lo recomendaría para una larga estancia pero es barato y accesible y era ideal para una visita breve. Como otros han dicho, no hay ventanas lo cual es algo desconcertante al comienzo. Hay una webcam conectada a la enorme tele que te muestra cómo es el tiempo fuera de todos modos. Mientras estuve había películas gratis para ver. ¡Es una pena que no pasase más tiempo en el cuarto ya que la selección era bastante buena!

Bell'hotel. Le stanze sono come capsule perciò non c'è molto carattere ma sono molto pulite e ordinate. Ci sono stato per una conferenza che è durata un paio di giorni, non c'era molto spazio, perfino per poggiare la valigia, perciò non lo consiglio per un lungo soggiorno, ma visto che è economico e accessibile era ideale per una breve visita. Come gli altri hanno scritto, non ci sono finestre che è piuttosto sconcertante all'inizio. C'è una webcam collegata all'enorme TV che mostra com'è il tempo fuori. Quando ci sono stato si potevano vedere film gratuitamente. E' un peccato che non ho passato più tempo nella mia stanza a vederli visto che la scelta era niente male!

Hôtel sympa. Les chambres sont comme des cabines donc ça manque un peu de caractère mais c'est très propre et bien rangé. J'y ai séjourné pour une conférence de deux jours et il n'y avait pas beaucoup de place, même pour poser ma valise donc je ne le recommanderais pas pour un long séjour mais comme c'est bon marché et bien situé c'est idéal pour un court séjour. Comme les autres l'ont dit avant moi, il n'y a pas de fenêtres, ce qui peut un peu perturber au début. Cela dit, il y a une webcam reliée à un écran géant grâce auquel on peut voir quel temps il fait dehors. Durant mon séjour l'accès aux films était gratuit. C'est dommage que je n'aie pas passé plus de temps dans ma chambre pour les regarder car la sélection était plutôt bonne.

Nice friendly pub that belongs to the Ember chain of pubs so food is fairly standard, but it is well cooked unlike that in other branches.

Have been several times while kitchen is being refitted and despite events going on in the pub, the service has been excellent. When they got my order wrong last time, I was given a refund with very little fuss which was definitely appreciated!

The pub carries out various events throughout the week, and one of them should suit you!
Monday is poker night.
Tuesday is grill night.
Wednesday is quiz night.
Thursday is curry night.

Éste es un hotel encantador en una zona muy conveniente. Tuve suerte de conseguir una gran habitación tranquila, completa con dos camas dobles y un baño en el cual era maravilloso relajarse al final del día. El amigo con quien fui no tuvo tanta suerte y acabó en un cuarto mucho más ruidoso que daba a New Street. La decoración del hotel no pega con el tipo y el color de la alfombra va cambiando, lo cual es especialmente notable si subes por las escaleras en vez de pillar al ascensor. El bar y el restaurante son caros, te sugiero que vayas a otro sitio especialmente si no vas con gastos pagados. Una cosa a saber es que ponen almohadas de plumas en las camas y como soy asmático no fue un buen descubrimiento cuando me desperté a las 4 de la mañana en medio de un ataque.

Grand Hôtel, cet établissement est très pratique parce qu'il est situé à deux pas de la gare New Street et des boutiques du centre principal de la ville. Si vous voulez réserver en avance, les chambres peuvent être raisonnables mais les prix augmentent très vite! Ayant séjourné dans l'hôtel un certain nombre de fois, je peux dire que la propreté des chambres est très variable. Si le petit-déjeuner n'est pas compris dans le prix de la chambre, il est vrai qu'il est relativement cher pour la qualité des aliments servis. Toutefois, le bar est très bon marché en particulier avant 19 heures et le personnel a toujours été au petit soin.
