If you’re an office girl and like to drink weak cocktails in a poorly themed Mexican restaurant with your mates, then get your coat on - I’ve found your heaven for you.

If, on the other hand, you have a degree of concern about what passes your lips and don’t like listening to gaggles of the aforementioned, then don’t go anywhere near this place.

The food is “Mexican” and, for what you’re getting, not terrible cheap - or good. The restaurant itself is a decent size and can accommodate numerous office parties (it’s raison d’etre)

The cocktails all taste watered down and the whole experience is a bit like something out of the Catherine Tate show.

In my humble opinion, avoid at all costs.

    What a fantastic place.

You may at first be discouraged by the folks working behind the counter - but I can assure you that, despite struggling to understand them, they will do you no harm and will provide you with a really good quality meal.

You can either take-away or sit at one of the few tables that they have there.

The menu is fish and chip standard, but they take a great deal of pride in what they do and churn out top notch fish and chips time and again.

Prices are reasonable and portions huge.

Completely and utterly worth popping in.

I quite like this place you know.

It’s a decent size and in a great location - slap, bang in the middle of town.

The food is more than the average “Chinese” with some imaginative dishes. The quality of food is consistently high - in fact, I’d probably go as far as to say that it’s the best Chinese food that I have eaten in this country.

If you’re having a party or a works do, then they have some huge tables and the quiet, friendly and efficient staff seem to be running on rails.

Prices are good for Marlow (you can interpret that as you want) and the portion sizes are more than adequate.

All in all, you will enjoy your visit here and leave feeling very satisfied.

It’s a pub and it’s got a Michelin star - guess what the prices are like.

Actually, it was a pub. Now, though, it’s a restaurant with accommodation. And what a restaurant too.

The food is absolutely out of this world - delicious, imaginative and of the utmost quality. What’s more, for such a prestigious kitchen, the prices are affordable for us mere humans too.

The decor is simple and elegant, the staff attentive to the nth degree. There is ample parking (the place isn’t that big) and the location is just out of the town centre.

If you fancy a decent meal and don’t want to head into London, then I’d totally recommend a a visit here.

    Claytons Lounge

This is the kind of funky and uber-chic “pub” that really winds me up.

I’m definitely not hip enough to be drinking here and don’t the crowd know it too.

It’s set up in a very contemporary style and has a decent beer garden with BBQ. The furniture is all trendy, the bar is trendy, the furnishings are trendy and the people flitting here and there - be they staff or punters - are all trendy.

If you’re trying to show-off to your new partner, or are working in a Marketing department, then this place has you tattooed all over it.

If you’re after a decent pint then steer well clear.

    Food-wise, well that’s trendy too.

Prices, of course, are steep - but if you drink here then the steeper the better. After all, you’ve got to spend your lottery winning somewhere.
