There’s something about this place the draws me there every time I’m in London - a sirens call of alcohol.
Tucked away in a relatively (this is London) street, it makes a perfect stopping place on the way back to the station or, if like me, you have a decent thirst, on the way from the station too.
There are several benches on the two street-facing sides of the pub which offer a brilliant opportunity to see over-paid half-wits attempting to meld Range-Rovers and Bentleys.
The only beer I drink there - as it’s the only place that I know does it, and it slaked a powerful thirst on my first visit - is Hoffbrau Premium. As far as I can tell, it’s kept superbly and always goes down a treat.
The pub can get reasonably lively and the food - whilst not elegant - is good value pub grub.
Staff are always friendly - as are the regulars.
If you’re in the area, give it a try.
