Macrae & Dick - Stirling

I cannot recommend these people enough!
My fiancé and I were driving from Inverness to Lancashire to our own wedding, when one of the brakes failed on the car just as we were passing Sterling! Having bought the car at a MacRae and Dick in the Highlands I gave these people a call and they rushed the car in and had it turned round and back on the road in less two hours!
A huge thanks to everyone in the service department at MacRae and Dick Stirling.
The Kist Restaurant - Nairn

A pleasant restaurant on Nairn’s main street.
Gentle, blue seaside theme with minimalist furniture. Soup was fantastic, venison burger not bad.
Staff polite and efficient.
Edit 2012-03-17: This place has recently changed hands and has undergone a re-branding, but it now has a “Closed until further notice” sign on the door.
Staples UK Retail - Edinburgh

I read people have had problems with this place in the past, but I’ve been here a couple of times and always found them most helpful.
Surprisingly, they have a decent stock of office furniture on site rather than to order in.
Ben Nevis Inn - Glen Nevis

Excellent location at the trail head.
Food is good. Service good. Ambience good. Location after you’ve walked up and down Ben Nevis – truly exceptional.

I think this may be the biggest B & Q in the world! It is huge! Excellent customer service both when buying and with warranty issues.
Thorntons - Edinburgh

Mmmmmm Chocolate…..
Usual Thorntons selection. Friendly and cheerful staff.
Clachnaharry Inn - Lentran
17-19 High Street, Inverness, Highlands and Islands IV3 8RD

This is a great pub.
The Clachnaharry isn’t quite fine dining but it’s certainly a cut above almost any gastro-pub I’ve been to. The dining area is more smart farm house than restaurant but the food is truly fantastic. It blends fantastically presented dishes with good portions and general deliciousness. The menu changes quite regularly so even a few weeks apart there will be something familiar and something new to try.
Occasionally they have sharing dishes on the menu and though I haven’t had the opportunity to try one yet they look fantastic.
Despite how excellent the food is it is SO reasonably priced. It genuinely makes you wonder how other places can charge so much for an inferior product.
If I must be critical the eating area was a little chilly this winter.
Definitely worth a visit whether you’re local or just passing through.
Linlithgow Craft Centre - Linlithgow
30 The Vennel, Linlithgow, Scotland EH49 7EX

Good selection of paper craft and card making supplies. Plenty of art stuff aimed at children.
An asset to the community.
Not a bad shop in anyway, but constrained by its size.
Nandos - Newcastle
Eldon Square Shopping Centre, Newcastle upon tyne NE1 7JD
21-02-2012
Not a bad example of a Nandos restaurant. No atmosphere downstairs, nicer upstairs.
Food is as you would expect and service is fine. On one visit the floor was sticky next to the drinks dispenser and tables needed cleaning but otherwise normally fine.
Nothing against this place, but I prefer the one in The Gate.
Miller's Creativity Shop - Glasgow
28 Stockwell Street, Glasgow, Scotland G1 4RT
21-02-2012
A huge shop which is great to just have a wander around or to find that elusive bit of this or that. But beware, they have many tempting, shiny things and you may end up leaving significantly poorer than when you entered!
