Shooters - Morpeth
43 Bridge Street, Morpeth, Northumberland NE61 1PE
29-11-2007
Shooters is a nice place for a drink, its modern, set out well and reasonably cheap. It has been decorated and built to avery high standard, fits in well with a posh little market town. I really like going here as its a great place to meet your mates for a nightout as it gets you buzzing for a good night. The staff are friendly and the toilets are always clean and tidy. I've never witnessed any fights here and your never to far away from a seat to rest your feet from those stilletto heels.
Eldon Square Shopping Centre - Newcastle
Percy Street, Newcastle upon tyne NE1 7JB
29-11-2007
Eldon Square is an original feature of Newcastle City Centre, it has always seem to be there as long as I have been shopping in Newcastle. If you get easily clostraphobic I would'nt suggest going here on a Saturday or anytime near Christmas. You can stand at the entrance and just see swarms of people coming towards you. It gets extremely busy and quite hot, so if you prefer open shopping outlets I would go to the Royal Quays, however Eldon Square does have its plus sides and can be rather nice to walk around during late-night shopping. Their Christmas display in the centre is usually quite entertaining and worth a look.
Quayside - Newcastle
35-37 The Close, Newcastle upon tyne NE1 3RN
29-11-2007
The Quayside is a lovely place to walk along if you want just a peaceful view of Newcastle Culture or really just want to walk off lunch at one of the many restaurants. There are some beutiful spots along the Quayside where you can admire the new Bridge or simply just to enjoy watching the world go by. If you fancy taking a walk over the Mellennium Bridge I would suggest you have a sit down half way over just to feel it moving - bizarre feeling. I like the Quayside as it feels like a life away from the hustle and bustle of the City Centre and if you want to really experience some culture there is always the Baltic or The Sage music Theatre to appreciate.
The Gate - Newcastle
Newgate Street, Newcastle upon tyne NE1 5RZ
29-11-2007
The Gate is a very individual style of Outlet. It makes you want to keep going back again and again. It's ideal for a nightout at the pictures and starting point for clubbing or simply just to enjoy a meal for two or a group of friends. I love The Gate and visit it at least once a month. I would say its definitely worth a visit. Only fault I could find with The Gate is you either have to go up an escalator, up in a very fast lift or take the see through stairs to go up any floors. Not ideal if you are afraid of heights, took me a few weeks to pluck up the courage to go up to the top floor as all you have to do is look over the railing and you can see right the way down to the bottom.
The Tuxedo Princess - Newcastle
Hillgate Quay, Gateshead Quays, Newcastle upon tyne NE1 3DE
29-11-2007
This is a club you don't really want to go to on a nighout. It's extremely tacky, you usually find alot of youngsters trying their luck and the toilet doors in the ladies are curved so do not close properly. As for the revolving dancefloor, that is not something to be proud of. If you want to have a giggle watch the drunks trying to step onto the dancefloor and fall straight on their a*s. Aport from that there is nothing to rate at The Tuxedo Princess. Its miles away from central newcastle and is far from the standards of Digital or Powerhouse.
Subway - Newcastle
25 Ridley Place, Newcastle upon tyne NE1 8JN
29-11-2007
Subway is a standard sandwich shop, however they do such unique varieties and their salads are always fresh and appetising. I have used Subway for years as my lunchtime stop, and will continue for many years to come. The other good thing about Subway is that they are open late, so if you are out in Newcastle late on, you know you can always grab a healthy snack in-between bars.
Linden Hall Golf Club - Morpeth
Linden Hall, Morpeth, Northumberland NE65 8XF
17-11-2007
Linden Hall is a very glamarous country estate with a Golf Club, Country Pub and a beautiful Hall for wedding functions etc. You feel as though you are miles away from civilisation and may find it difficult getting a mobile signal, but the food is to die for. It's quite expensive but well worth it. To feel so secluded, yet only minutes away from a busy road is remarkable. Definitely on my list as possiblr wedding venue in the future if budgets will allow me to, haha. A lovely place to visit, but you do need to book a table in advance as they get really busy.
buzz nightclub - Ashington
Station Road, Ashington, Northumberland NE63 8HF
17-11-2007
If you like having a drink and being surrounded by teen underage drinkers then this is the place to go. This is a very tacky and cheap nightclub that has two floors and 2 separate clubs. They allow way too many people in here and you can guaratee that there will be at least one fight at closing time. I wouldn't recommned this club to anyone and would definitely suggest a bus trip to Morpeth where the standards are a little higher.
Gee Tee's - Fleetwood
Poulton Road, Fleetwood, Lancashire FY7 7DA
17-11-2007
This shop is fantastic. It's really cheap and offers a huge amount of various items for your home, health & beauty and gift options. I visit this shop at least twice everytime I go to Fleetwood and only wish they would make one in the North East. They hold alot of unusual items at very cheap prices and very good quality. A must if you like having the freedom and variety of a really good shop.
Freeport Village - Fleetwood
Anchorage Road, Fleetwood, Lancashire FY7 6AE
17-11-2007
Fleetwood Freeport is a growing complex. It is extremely similar to The Royal Quays, just abit smaller but not for ling. There is drastic improvements and extensions being made to Fleetwood Freeport and soon should outsize The Royal Quays. There are always alot of coach trips going to Fleetwood Freeport especially the O.A.P trips to Blackpool, a hit on the list. There is a wide variety of shops and a vast amount of things for the kids to entertain in. This is a nice complex in an upcoming town and definitely worth a visit if you are ever staying in Blackpool or the local caravan site carla gran.
