The Blue Lagoon - Glasgow
299 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow, Scotland G2 3HQ

Just your average chip shop. The fish I had was alright and the chips were good and since it's in a good spot the food doesn't lie for long.
But due to it's central location it's quite expensive! and I could not believe it when they charged me 10p for salt & vinegar - never been charged for that before - and 10p for brown sauce.

Not really extortionate, unless you want to use the spa or gym they have upstairs. But it did cost me more than other Glasgow Hairdressers I've been to.
But you get what you pay for and I got better a better haircut than I have had before in the city. These guys - well gals really - know exactly what they are doing and they cut your hair to suit you not the usual "short back n' sides" you'd expect from a small town barbers.
Mo Hair - Glasgow

The price is really good here (£20) and he actually listens to what you want!. Far, far better than the local barbers.
Lloyds TSB Bank - Glasgow
705 Govan Road, Glasgow, Scotland G51 2YJ

There's good staff in this bank and plenty of "cash machines" outside. But the queues here are bad. When I tried to sign up, I was told I would be waiting an hour and a half!. Not surprising that it's Scotland's busiest branch.
So if you are wanting to pay something, it's best to go to your local branch, they took me within 10 minutes.
Game - Glasgow
55 St. Enoch Square, Glasgow, Scotland G1 4BW

I reckon this is the most understaffed and smallest gaming stores in the city. After the St Enoch center was expanded I would have hoped they might move to the new side. But no, they are in the same place.
The store is awfully small and generally only has 2 people on the tills and nobody to ask for help if you can't find something as they are always busy.
However considering it's minuscule size it does have a good selection of games.
Gamestation - Glasgow
43 Union Street, Glasgow, Scotland G1 3RB
22-04-2010
This is your typical Gamestation and just like every other games store really. However I find that this one tends to be better stocked and has games that I've had trouble finding elsewhere. It's also a pretty big store and the staff are ok. Some are friendlier than others...
Clydebank Shopping Centre - Clydebank
170 Kilbowie Road, Clyde House, Clydebank, Scotland G81 2UA

Just a usual town shopping center except there's a cinema and a good sized Asda attached. It's also brilliant for public transport as there's at least 3 train stations nearby and loads of busses go past to everywhere from Dumbarton to Glasgow.
R Colpi & Son - Clydebank
13 Britannia Way, Clyde Shopping Centre, Clydebank, Scotland G81 2RZ

This place is located in the Clyde shopping center at the Asda side entrance across from McDonalds.
From the outside it looked alright, there's no signs on the window that suggest they do food only ice cream. No menu or deals so I had to ask the staff if they even sold food before sitting down.
It looks ok inside, but there's an insane amount of stripes. Striped wallpaper and stripped candy bags, if the stripes had been left-to-right rather than up-to-down I would have gotten dizzy.
When I first looked at the menu I thought it was awful small and I was even more surprised to find that a place with an Italian name does not do Italian food. There's no pasta's, no macaroni, nothing like that. If you don't like Salads, paninis or Toasties you've had it.
The waitress didn’t give me long to make my mind up either as she asked me immediately what I wanted, so it was a good thing that I usually order Toasties outside.
And I can’t say I was impressed with my meal either. Usually when I have toasties outside there’s 4 or 6 slices but I was served a measly 2 slice - which was certainly NOT enough to fill me up. The salad that came with it was dried up and instead of cucumber it came with 2 tiny salad tomatoes. There was also crisps with it instead of coleslaw which was very disappointing - and I should point out that the menu does not mention any of this.
As soon as I had started eating the waitress came up to me and immediately told me the price, no bill placed in front of me for me to pay once I was done, no I was expected to hand over dirty money in the middle of my meal (And she did this to everyone not just me). It always felt like I was being rushed and I thought the staff were impolite and had not been properly trained.
And I should also mention that the toastie was £6 while I felt was massively overpriced as you'd get a dinner cheaper in the (better) McDonalds across from it.
Definitely not somewhere I will be returning to.
Michael Benson-Colpi Thanks, Scott, for telling it exactly as you saw it! Were you to steel yourself to return, I think you would find it a totally different experience in 2011. Your feedback has been very welcome. Hope to hear more from you!

Queen Street Railway Station - Glasgow
Dundas Street, Glasgow, Scotland G1 2AF
19-04-2010
Queen Street is the cities most important station for heading north. It has trains running to Edinburgh every 15 minutes and they only take about 45 minutes as their limited stop which is excellent.
The actual station however is small and not very impressive. There is a burger king and WH Smith but that's it. So if your looking for anything else and you can't leave the station you've had it.
Glasgow Central Station - Glasgow
Gordon Street, Glasgow, Scotland G1 3SL
19-04-2010
Would agree that it's strange reviewing a station. But here goes...
The station is pretty big and has a good variety of stores: boots, M&S and Burger King. The station also has toilets but they aren't free which is annoying - but Burger King's across Union Street are so pop in there they don't mind - so it's not a bad station if you can't leave it.
The area it is in is very handy. It's situated almost in the very middle of the city and you can get to Argyle Street and all the shops easily from it.
Another issue however is that you need to get a bus between it and Queen Street if your heading north. But they have a bus that stops right at the station which is handy.
