Southport Theatre - Southport
Promenade, Southport, Merseyside PR9 0DZ

Nice big theatre with good acoustics. I sang with Haydock Male Voice Choir last weekend, a joint concert with the leyland Brass Band. A good night at a fantastic venue.
The Roxy - Girvan
1-5 Bridge Street, Girvan, Scotland KA26 9HH

A really nice pub/restaurant which serves very good food. The beer garden overlooks Girvan Harbour which is a very nice view. Also does a 'beer of the day’ which is cut price for the day. Worth a look.
The Fish Inn - Girvan
Harbour Street, Girvan, Scotland KA26 9AJ

A nice friendly pub which overlooks Girvan harbour. The owner is mad keen on fishing and the walls are covered with fishing and nautical memorabilia. In the past, the owner has set me up with sea fishing trips which I thought was very decent of him.
The Vaults - Girvan
32 Glendoune Street, Girvan, Scotland KA26 0AB

A nice friendly pub in Girvan which is well worth a visit. Nice beers, good entertainment, and a pool table.
Fish 'n' Trips - Plymouth
17 Commercial Street, Plymouth PL4 0NA

A fantastic fishing trip just off Plymouth. We caught lots of mackeral, pouting and whiting. We fished off a wreck sunk in World War 2. We got right up next to the aircraft carrier HMS Illustrious which is stationed at Davenport Naval Base.
A great day out and well worth the money.
Cineworld - St. Helens
Chalon Way West, St. Helens, Merseyside WA10 1BF

Multiplex cinema which shows all of the new mainstream releases. Not the type of cinema you’d go to for more obscure films such as the 'Film Four’ sort of films. Personally I prefer the 'Film Four’ films.
Also I recommend you take your own refreshments as the prices for nibbles are extortionate.
Larkin's Restaurant - St. Helens
36-38 North Road, St. Helens, Merseyside WA10 2TR
30-10-2008
Very good family run restaurant with excellent food and excellent wine. The owner is an expert in fine wines and regularly visits france to choose decent wine. Fantastic malt whisky selection too. Well worth a visit
Wagon and Horses - St. Helens
Clipsey Lane, St. Helens, Merseyside WA11 0HX

Not a bad pub but tends to be 'cliqueish.’ Nice spacous beer garden at the back, good for families with children.
Tontine House - St. Helens
Market Street, St. Helens, Merseyside WA10 1NE
30-10-2008
Another typical Wetherspoons pub. Average food and cheaper ales. Have guest beers in every couple of weeks and try before you buy. No music so can go to socialise.
Buzbys - St. Helens
54-58 Bridge Street, St. Helens, Merseyside WA10 1NW
30-10-2008
Not the prettiest of bars but the ale is very cheap. The majority of the clients are regulars or 'barflies’ as the ale is so cheap.
