Stanley Park Cafe - Blackpool

Stanley Park, West Park Drive, Blackpool FY3 9HU

22-11-2008

This cafe is stunning, and seems like a wonderful place to eat. However, the service is appalling, the food way overpriced and not of great quality and I certainly will not be going back. Took a long time for the food to arrive, not good when with hungry children.

Dutch Pot - Leeds

247 Chapeltown Road, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS7 3EX

22-11-2008

ooh - such fabulous food shop!! Perfect for evening meals and also for hangover sures too. An excellent variety of meals on offer and service is quick and friendly.

Much better now the shop has relocated - able to serve much faster and deal with the number of customers. Great prices too.

The Glades - Bromley

High Street, London BR1 1DN

20-11-2008

When I lived in Sydenham, The Glades was a definite bonus as was so close, with lots of car parking spaces and a huge variety of shops. It did get quite busy at times, but I never found it too much. It is great with children also, and has good toilet facilities, although the lifts at Waterstones are amazingly slow, but the main shopping centre ones are fine.
One thing worth mentioning is the Santa Grotto at Christmas - good if you have lots of spare cash, but I found it rather expensive and overpriced.

Pizza Express Restaurants - Leeds

Crown Street, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS2 7DA

20-11-2008

This is a lovely restaurant - been open for years now and still maintains a high standard of service and food. It is a great location - not noisy or too busy. It offers all the usual Pizza Express features, but the interior makes it feel more upmarket, which is nice. Great for lunch and dinners.

Gap - Leeds

135-137 Briggate, Leeds, West Yorkshire LS1 6BR

20-11-2008

Although Gap clothes tend to be very nice and good quality, this shop is not a great shopping experience. I found the space very crowded, difficult to get around, very long queues and hard to find specific items I was looking for. It was a surprise as I have found Gap to be a pleasent shopping experience previously.

Dorothy Perkins - Blackpool

Victoria Street, Blackpool FY1 4HU

Excellent shop - always call in here when in Blackpool as I know I’ll always find something. Good prices, with great sales at times too.

From officewear to casual wear, DP has something for everything. I love the different styles and also the variety of mix and match styles.

The shoes, as mentioned, are great and are chosen to match with the shoes on sale also.

A definite must when shopping!

Primark - Blackpool

Bank Hey Street, Blackpool FY1 4RY

19-11-2008

This Primark is very large, with a really good kids dept on the top floor. There is lots of choice, which is nice as some Primarks might have a good ladieswear section but small childenswear dept.

The queues are good - not as long and winding as I’ve experienced in other Primarks, but that may just be luck!

River Wyre - Blackpool

Breck Road, Poulton le Fylde, Blackpool FY6 7JZ

18-11-2008

This can be absolutely fabulous food, with speedy service and good atmosphere. However, sometimes with a large group, the food can come at different times so that a few members of the group have finished their food, while others haven’t received their meal. However, this is just one occasion.

The food is wholesome and tasty, and of reasonable value - good sized portions and a wide variety to chose from.

Happy Valley Chinese Take Away - Poulton-le-Fylde

30 Holts Lane, Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire FY6 8HN

18-11-2008

An extrememly disappointing takeaway. We tried this twice, just to check that perhaps the first time it was a one off that the food was a bit off, but both times, the ribs were all fat, the food tasted stale and most definitely not fresh. The prices are not cheaper than other places the same, but thankfully not more expensive but I would not recommend this chinese toanyone.

Filipinos - Poulton-le-Fylde

I had takeout from here and while it was nice, it was distinctly average. Nothing especially stood out and I would go elsewhere for Chinese takeout in the future.
On the plus side, the food is a reasonable price and it may well be to others tastes more than ours.
