La Senza - Aylesbury

4 Friars Square, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP20 2SP

19-12-2008

Quite cheap and unfortunately on the small size, with even with the cup sizes on the bras coming up small. There are usually a number of offers in the store, which sells bras, knickers, sleepwear and slippers. Plenty of choice, although it tends to be a case of the same design in different colours.

New Look - Aylesbury

12-14 Friars Square, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP20 2SP

19-12-2008

This is a good sized New Look, with womenswear, teenager, shoes, accessories and plus sizes. They also do a range of gifts. Plenty of choice and very cheap. You won’t find anything which is particlarly durable here, but then you are only getting what you pay for. The only problem with the shop is that it tends to get quite cluttered. Plenty of changing rooms and privacy though.

Bay Trading Co - Aylesbury

23 Friars Square, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP20 2SP

19-12-2008

This is in the same bracket as New Look for cheap, disposable fashion. Not great quality, but then again, you aren’t paying that much. It has womenswear only and is really suitable for teenagers and those in their early twenties. Sizes are reasonable and there is a large car park closeby

Supercuts - Aylesbury

11 Friars Square, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP20 2SP

19-12-2008

Cheap and cheerful and you don’t need to make an appointment - you just turn up and wait. Probably the best choice if you aren’t particularly fussy about your hair.

Destiny Hair Design - Aylesbury

7 Hampden Square, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP19 7HT

19-12-2008

This is situated on Fairford Leys. This hairdressers is friendly and treats its customers very well. The staff are clearly very happy and have nothing but praise for their boss and how the business is run. I am really happy with the service and with the haircut I have here. It is reasonably priced and how much you pay depends on the experience of the person who cuts it. There is plenty of parking about.

The Plough - Aylesbury

Tring Road, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP20 1JH

19-12-2008

I like this pub - it is part of Ember Inns and has been refurbished. It is on the busy Tring Road and has a car park and a large outdoor area, which gets very busy in the summer, even though the outdoor seating is right by the road.
It is light and airy inside and very pleasant. There is music, but you can hear the people you are with. There is plenty of indoor seating. They serve food until 9pm which is standard pub food, very reasonably priced and nice enough. There is a good choice of drinks and service is prompt

The Lounge - Aylesbury

1A Market Square, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP20 1TA

19-12-2008

I was persuaded to go in here one night, but won’t go back. It is cheap and nasty in here - you are searched before you go in and your feet stick to the carpet. It is very dark and loud, and feels dirty. The drinks are dear. Avoid

Aylesbury Lending Library - Aylesbury

County Library & Museum County Hall, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP20 1UU

19-12-2008

This is a lovely library and there is a great range of books, cds, magazines, dvds to lend.
There are tables on which to read or study and computers are available to hire for use and internet access. Every Tuesday and Friday at 10:30, the staff sing nursery rhymes wfor the under 5s - which is free and really good fun. The childrens section is particularly good wih plenty of books. It is really geared up to encourage a child’s love of reading.

The Red Lion - Northop

High Street, Northop, Mold, Wales CH7 6BQ

19-12-2008

This used to be the place to go about 10 years ago and would be packed out pretty much every night. It has been through a number of changes of owners and has quietened down a lot over the years, even before the smoking ban. It has recently reopened and undergone a refurbishment, which personally, I find makes the place feel a little cold in atmosphere. It is a large pub in a very nice setting with a restaurant section and also three rooms for the pub side. It has a large car park.

The food is mainly pub favourites and the portions were generous. The service was quick and the staff were friendly and efficient.

Pad Thai - Aylesbury

Market Square, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire HP20 1TW

19-12-2008

This is a tiny upstairs Thai restaurant with a tiny bar downstairs. The service is prompt and the food is reasonable. When we went it was quite quiet and the food was ok, but quite hot. There wasn’t a great deal of choice either in food or drinks - probably with it being so small. Service was fine.
