The Shakespeare - Barbican

2 Goswell Road, London EC1M 7AA

30-09-2007 (updated on 21-07-2010)

The Shakespeare Pub is situated next to the YMCA centre in Fann Street, near to barbican tube station. The outside looks quite old and reminded me of a typical old english pub. When i walked in through the door i realised that it had a very English feel to the place. By listening to people in the pub, i had the feeling it is used prodominantly by locals living in the barbican area as everyone seemed to know each other. The service from the staff behind the bar was very quick and very polite. I would probably only use this pub for a quick drink if i needed a good Vodka after work to relax me from my stressful day!

West Cornwall Pasty Co - Covent Garden

Covent Garden, Covent Garden, London WC2E 8RA

18-06-2008

I visited the West Cornwall Pasty Company as i was wondering through Covent Garden on an early Sunday morning. I was looking for somewhere to sit and have a coffee and read the paper but i found myself licking my lips at the lovely pasties which were staring at me when i stood at the counter waiting for my coffee. The variety of pasty’s available are vast and has some interesting variations and combinations such as Steak and stilton, pork and apple, and chicken balti. Vegatarians are not forgotten and can choose from a number of cheese based pasties such as cheese and cauliflower and cheese and mushroom. There are seats and tables outside on the Piazza for the al fresco consumption of the succulent pasty of one’s choice and upstairs is the wonderful Cove where one can dine on pasties indoors or also al fresco on the balcony overlooking The Piazza. I found that the seating outside was very limited as many people looked for a place to sit so don’t be too suprised if you can’t find a place to sit as its prime location makes the Pasty shop very popular. The West Cornwall Pasty Company offers wonderful value for money and very tasty food and i would definately visit again.

The Club Bar and dining - Soho

21 Warwick Street, Soho, London W1B 5NE

29-10-2007

The Club Bar & Dining is a modern restaurant which is perfect for people looking for a fairly priced cooked meal and drink, in a relaxed and stylish setting. When I first entered the place it had a cool ambience and classy feel to it. It was very busy but the bar did have something that made it very chilled out. I often go out in Soho and I thought the atmosphere in side was terrific. I only popped in for lunch with a friend the other day but feel that it would be great not only for a light lunch but I think it would be good particularly in the evenings. And will definitely be dragging my boyfriend out to the place soon. The staff are friendly, efficient and manage to be attentive when serving us. I was really impressed with the menu, with some good specials and seafood dishes which I liked the most. Plus the drinks were excellent and affordable. Overall, The Club Bar and Dining is well worth a visit and I will be definitely going back.

Sugar Reef - Soho

42-44 Great Windmill Street, London W1D 7NE

24-10-2007

Sugar Reef Restaurant and Nightclub offers great food, the menu is International in style and includes a wide range of meat, fish and vegetarian dishes as well as a stunning grill section with delicious steaks, burgers and lobster. It is spacious with a lot of cool, laidback people, which helped me and my boyfriend relax and have a chilled out evening. Our waiter was so friendly and the service was really efficient, and when we decided to go downstairs to the club we were surprised as it had an amazing atmosphere and the music was brilliant. There are lots of offers such as happy hour that you can take advantage of which will make your bill much cheaper, as we found out. The Sugar Reef would be great for large group bookings such as birthdays but my evening was also exellent so thanks to Sugar Reef and the staff as myself and my boyfriend had a superb evening and it was a real bargain!

Browns flower stall - Docklands

Canary whalf station, London E14 5NY

22-10-2007

Wow someone with these stylish, beautiful elegant flower arrangements. I noticed this little stall on my way to work and I thought it’s the end of the week why not buy the mother some flowers…so that is exactly what I did. The little man behind the stall is also worth a visit as he is hilarious. I brought her 12 luxury large-headed red Roses with striking foliage she really did love them but there were so many to choose from. There were some fabulous selection of flowers including Germini, Lisianthus, Gypsophila plus folded Aspidistra leaves, also Oriental Lilies. I know a lot about flowers as my Nanna is an arranger and I have to admit these are certainly in competition with hers!

My favourite drinks are smooties so when i came across this little place i feel in love. Its an open building and its so colourful and vibrant it makes you feel firsty for one of there refreshing beautiful drinks. They do so many flavours it really is hard to choose and some of the mixtures that they make are so different you think it would taste horrible but honestly they are all to die for!I was working across the road from the place and i actually drank around 5 a day!
