Tapa - Edinburgh

Was invited to a Qype event at the latest branch of this Spanish restaurant. Had heard a couple of mixed reviews but went with an open mind as always! The original restaurant in Leith is a firm favourite!
Seems any problems have been ironed out as we were treated to some great food and the staff were friendly & helpful! We had various tapas to start including prawns, serrano ham cheese melon, baked figs with ham and Padron peppers. The main dish was a mixed paella with chorizo & chicken. (Be on the lookout for small bits of bone)
Didn't actually see a menu to compare prices as this was a free food event (we had to pay for drinks) but I would reckon they'd be on a par with Leith. Just feel sorry for the people who put their names down but didn't make it!

Not sure if they will offer the £10 lunch again but we booked a table a couple of weeks back and had a lunch menu which cost in the region of £15 for two courses. The service was exemplary, the food was delicious and the friends we were with who had been to one of Edinburghs few Michelin starred restaurants the night before were duly impressed to!
Food to die for!!!

Have used this vet for a number of years & pets! A bit on the pricey side but local & nothing but exemplary service & care for your pet! They prefer you to be insured so there are no boundaries to the treatment that can be provided. We've never been insured but put money away each month to pay for any bills. They are very thorough & offer out of hours advice for free (e-vets). We used this service & were very pleased with the advice given. Would recommend for anyone local.

Had to drop in here to ask directions to an address we were looking for! The bar staff were friendly & helpful but didn't know the place we were looking for. Enter the guys at the bar!!! One looked up google maps on his phone for us whilst another phoned a taxi driving friend! The pub is pricey ( we had to have a drink while we waited....) but clean traditional decor, fab views across the Forth, a conservatory & a beer garden make it worthwhile! We will most certainly be back! Thanks again guys for the directions, we found it no problem after your help!!!

Took my main squeeze out to lunch. We were heading for Suruchi too an old fav but it was closed so went a bit further down the street. Despite having curry on my mind, we decided to opt for this place.
A bar which serves food or a food place that serves drinks? Not quite sure where it comes but…..
I ordered the seafood platter at £8.95 from the specials board. Whilst the good lady was perusing the board, the chef appearef and recommended the Peppered venison steak with brandy sauce & chunky chips! Always one to take a tip that’s what she ordered. Neither of us were disappointed! The venison steak was rare & beautiful, a tasty morsel & the suace was to die for. My platter incleded oysters, smoked trout, smoked salmon, smoked mackerel, and crayfish tails, excellent I have to say! Washed down with a bottle of Magners, we left with smiles on our faces & at £30 a smile on the bank managers face too!!

Not cheap but if you go at lunchtime they have a special menu and often have offers on. A firm favourite, the mussels are fantastic. I like my fish and it couldn’t be better. You can buy stuff there too.

been here for carry out and sit in. Always been busy when I’ve been there. Had a geasy fish supper once but I think it was a different guy. Had to give it another chance and was not disappointed. Not just a chippie, well worth going for a sit in snack.

Used to go here a while back and it was total rubbish, but had the need for something tasty & was in the neighbourhood so gave it a try. A nice surprise, it was mighy fine! It had obviously changed hands since I had been last & a great improvement I must say. Well worth dropping in for a tasty snack.

Fantastic brasserie where nothing is ever too much touble for the staff! The food is excellent & the prices are a lot less than you’d expect when you walk in the door.
I would well recommend it!

I think the guys who have already written reviews must be family of the owner of this bar! It is really run down & the seats at the back are ripped to shreds! A bit of Trainspotting meets….......well, Trainspotting. I was offered a few bargains while I was in there but declined. The gents toilet leaves a lot to be desired! In fact I’d just not go there! We had drummers drumming on tables, music blaring & the barmaids are not the sort you’d take home to meet your mum, infact I wouldn’t take them home at all…...
