I was disappointed to find that when we arrived at 6 pm the staff had not even started to set up the bar in the function room that we were using on the first floor. There was one young member of staff busy doing this and with guests arriving from 6.30 for a meal at 7 it was quicker to go to the bar downstairs to get served.
I purchased a bottle of shiraz (£26.50), 2 soft drinks and 2 shot glasses of nuts.....total bill £32.70.
Considering that hotel were catering for 50 persons the food was very good.
The only real faults were no butter knives on the side plates, no milk/cream for coffee placed on our table and one very embarassed young waiter.
I had asked a member of staff for a remote microphone for our President to use while speaking but according to the staff member I spoke to they hadn't got one and another who said it had to be pre booked at least 2 weeks in advance.
Plenty of coat hangers/rails supplied for coats.
Overall a pleasant experience, excellent meal but expensive drinks.

We had booked the table as my partner knew from past experience that it gets very busy.
We started with a shared charcutterie plate which was very nice, I then had the chargrilled veal with linquine, chorizo and a wild garlic butter. My partner had the duck breast with mustard potato cake & fennel, we did order a side of seasonal veg. All of it was beautifully cooked and we did our norm of sharing our main courses.
Then to dessert....choices...choices I decided on the buttermilk pudding with toffee banana and macaroons while my partner elected for the marathon tart with salted butter & nut caramel, cholocate ganache and sorbet....both were lovely.
Finished off with a coffee and maltesers!!!
The restaurant was busy but nothing too much trouble for the staff.
There is a daily specials board and they cater for children and don't mind pets being allowed in the premises...if it was our local I don't think we would be cooking at home.

Our 2nd visit to this restaurant for a Saturday lunch offer of 2 main dishes and sides.
As we opened the door to walk in we were greeted to the smell of fish which was not very pleasant. None of the staff made any attempt to greet us until we had walked through the restaurant to the bar.
I ordered a bottle of wine and olives to go with it. the wine arrived promptly but after 5-10 mins I had to ask for the olives.
Our waitress failed to mention that they had sold out of one of the main dishes which I had heard her telling other customers about as we walked past them.
I had the salmon with chorizo & caper sauce ( very oily) which game with sautee potatoes and green beans (£11). My partner had the game & bacon casserole which came with mash & green beans (£11). The meat was very dry, not very warm and appeared to have an oil slick on top.
We listened to the dessert menu but declined.
Yet another disappointing visit, come on Dan have a word with your staff. I don’t expect to see them wiping down tables in front of the customers who are about to sit there when other tables are free & laid.
One of local dining establishments that I will be avoiding in future.

My first visit to this Indian restaurant. I went there with friends for the Wednesday night special of starter, main course, side dish, naan or rice & coffee for the price of £9.95.....excellent value.
The service was friendly but a little lax when it came to desserts and getting coffee.
There was enough food for 4 people rather than 3....a couple of people went home with doggy bags......very American but the food is too good to waste.
All the food seemed to be freshly prepared hence there was a little wait between course but that was no bad thing.
The restaurant was full so very glad we had booked.

My partner & I stayed here for 2 nights from 3rd June. It is a lovely location on a working farm, which is isolated with no pub within walking distance.
We got there about 7.15 pm which caused the owners a few problems as they were serving dinner to guests, we were greeted by Jack who didn't introduce himself or ask for our details, asked to take a seat & help ourselves to a drink from the honesty bar.
We were shown 2 rooms & allowed to chose the one we liked. The room was very clean & well appointed with en suite shower room. There was fridge, tea, coffee & biscuits in the room. Not sure about the napkins that covered the tea tray & waste bin....very strange. The fire alarm instructions I found in the bedside table drawer and it took me unitl we were leaving to find the folder about the area which was tucked in another drawer.
The breakfast was to die for with a wide choice of cereals, fruit & yoghurts followed by a cooked breakfast ...we certainly didn't need lunch.
Dinner is a set main course followed by a choice of dessert, food was beautifully cooked, we took our own wine in but you can purchase there, we didn't see the wine list. The only downside is that it is served at 7 pm.
There is also an indoor swimming pool and another extra is that a laundry can be done for £4 a load.
We would definitely stay here again and there were repeat guests there.

Went here for a meal on my own as my partner was away & I didn't feel like cooking.
Wednesday evening very quiet I was the only customer in the restaurant apart from those waiting for take aways. 3 waiters to 1 customer. Thankfully it did get busier.
Decided to go for their set menu of starter, main dish, side dish, rice and naan for £11.49. I choose the sheek kebab, lamb dupiaza( which was very sweet), mushroom bajhee, pilau rice & naan. Over all the food was good I was just a little disappointed with the sweetness of the dupiaza and very mushy sauce.

Stayed here for a Friday & Saturday night. Owners only took over 10 weeks ago. Room wasn't too bad, wooden blind slats were well coated with dust, would have been nice to have a mirror by the dressing table so at least I could have seen to dry my hair. Bathroom had some interesting cracks in the shower cubicle, plug in sink (which resembled a bird bath)had to be pushed down. To let water out you had to claw the plug up with finger nails. Shower was intermittment with the hot water cutting off when we tried to adjust the temperature.
Friday evening ate here which wasn't too bad.....partner had prawn cocktail, followed by a steak. I had smoked salmon followed by chicken breast on a bed of spinach with some very greasy fried potatoes.
Breakfast on Saturday was good self service with a good selection of cereal & orange juice. I didn't fancy a cooked breakfast & the chef brought me out a lovely bowl of fresh fruit salad(apple, orange, grapes, strawberry & kiwi fruit). Partner asked for a bacon buttie which was more like a door step.....even managed to get mugs for our coffee.
Sunday morning breakfast very different as a different chef......bowl of fruit salad that appeared to be mostly apple with a few raspberries added I would say definitley a top up from the previous day. Partner had another bacon buttie which came on wholemeal bread that we thought had been toasted but had no colour which was cut into dainty triangles.
It was an ideal location for our visit to Windsor but the owners need to up their game!!!

Popped in last Saturday after a walk round Stowe. Meat counter looked very good so decided on a piece of shoulder of pork for Sunday lunch and some sausages.
Very disappointed with the piece of pork it had a large piece of grissle in the middle and was tasteless.
Sausage we asked for 1 variety, cooked them only to find that we had 2 different varieties and couldn't identify what they were. Texture of the 2 varieties were very different.
Shall be sticking with the butcher we normally use and will not be returning to this one.
richardhilsdon Hi Sue. We're really sorry you were unhappy with the meat you purchased from our butchery. Our pork is high quality Gloucester Old Spot which is usually full of flavour. The issue with the sausages appears to be an unfortunate mistake. We pride ourselves on our customer service and would welcome you to come back to us so we can compensate you for your disappointing experience.
