Wow I love the Soho special!
I was introduced to this place a while ago and used to go every weekend pretty much. The Soho special is a must if visiting, and although the burger bun isn’t 10/10 the beef and pulled pork filling and tasty fries are easily.
The fries always taste best with a good coating of seasoning so if you can’t see a slight orange tinge to your fries i’d ask for more and i’m sure the staff would be happy to help.
The staff are friendly and often whilst ordering you find yourself getting jabbed in the back from the next customer in the queue because youre talking too much… However, if it isn’t busy (rare when I used to go lots) i’m sure the staff would love to stop for a moment to talk about anything.
Bottomless soda… Need I say more.
I don’t visit too often any more but only as I have found other places to enjoy, but i’m sure i’ll make an appearance soon - I just can’t keep away from the Soho special for long.

I like this place, and now I like Mexican, even if this place serves a British style Mexican menu as some reviewers suggest.
The tacos are well priced, not too expensive and very tasty - especially marinated meat! I love pork marinated, and this pork is well marinated, maybe a tad greasy though. I normally order all three tacos, as I can’t choose between beef or chicken as my second option so have to go for all of them.
Bottomless soft drinks are always welcome when I visit places, and for less than £2 for a bottomless drink it is a fair price compared to other bottomless offering venues… Although the machine was out of order after paying, a friendly manager offered us a refund no questions asked (thumbs up!)
The walk in, queue up, walk out system works well. You could say you’re on a conveyor belt but when you’re hungry and in a rush that’s just perfect.
Love the atmosphere, popular place to grab a snack, and long opening hours mean i’ll be returning again soon.

Summary: Nice flavours in taster sizes, extremely expensive for portion size, cafe lacks quality throughout, customer service ok.
I tried the ice cream, but other products include cakes and drinks. The ice cream comes in a variety of flavours that are nice if you only have a taste, but after a serving of any of the flavours i found myself feeling rather ill, feeling the product was very sickly and not wanting to visit the place any time soon.
The portion sizes are tiny, but the prices are enormous. I understand the concept of you get what you pay for, and quality often means a high price but nearly £4 for two scoops of ice cream in a tub no bigger than a shot glass seems rather extreme.
I looked around the interior of the cafe whilst being served. The dark maroon paint work and the front of the cafe being opened up onto the pavement was attractive to the eye. However, I soon noticed the somewhat questionable mirrored ceiling, cheap napkin dispensers supplied by 'Lotus’ the paperware company, and the usual multi-coloured fluorescent spoons found in many other gelato/ice cream bars as disappointing and ever-increasing questions over the price Freggo was charging started to be formed.
The staff behind the counter were from varied backgrounds it appeared, from the numerous accents I could hear. This was the only real saving grace for the cafe. Although I am bias towards a workforce comprising of variety, the man that served me gave me detailed information about each product and served me enthusiastically. The only trouble is that I am not sure how sustainable the mini-lecture I was given about each ice cream flavour is, and the cafe may suffer from a very immediate decrease in customer service, purely because the product is not easily in sight nor explained enough for the staff not to have to explain to every customer.
2* may be low for a company associated with Gaucho Grill, its partner company, but unless they address the points outlined above my 2*’s will not be changing.
