A nice place to go for a meal. Has a varied menu, good atmosphere and a riverside terrace. There is also reasonable parking and a bus service from the city centre.

This museum has recently won a grant to be extensively redeveloped. Unfortunately this means it will not reopen until at least 2010. It houses collections relating to the history of Norwich and Norfolk, including a complete Apothecary’s shop and a recreation of a pawnbroker.

This museum was a private home in Norwich since the 14th century and has been considerably added to over the years.
It now contains many pieces from Norwich museum service’s extensive collections and is a fascinating glimpse at family life throughout the ages. There are often costumed interpreters available for tours and always staff on hand to explain the exhibits. Only open Wednesdays and Saturdays.

One of the few remaining independent department stores. A wide selection in an historic building, includes several restaurants and coffee shops. Has a molton brown franchise.

My favourite second hand bookshop in Norwich. Good quality books at reasonable prices. John and Robert are friendly and helpful, they also have a stall on the market if you want popular paperback books.

Excellent food, love their milkshakes. Can be busy but even if you have to queue it’s worth it.

A very good model shop situated in a very interesting building, based on the crystal palace of 1851. They concentrate mainly on remote control cars, boats and planes.

This has now closed down.

A very good all round toy shop situated in the very fashionable Royal Arcade. Has an excellent model department upstairs with friendly and helpful staff.

Does a nice carvery on a Sunday, has a river outlook with a conservatory and terrace. Good car parking.
