Teoh's Restaurant - Southville
278 North Street, Southville, Bristol BS3 1TF
17-10-2009
Quite a nice place here, pretty cheap price and above average food. Not all the food is perfect but most dishes are very tasty and enjoyable. Definately a good place to go if you have never been before.
One small problem I had which is why the lower star count is the seating. Its quite a big place with lots of tables however If you let them seat you they always seem to put you next to another table. Even if all others are free. It just makes for uncomfortable eating.
Café Rouge - Bristol
Unit SU 51A Cabot Circus, Cabot Circus, Bristol BS1 3BD

What a dissapointment. The only good thing there was when I went here was the company I had and I could of taken that with me anywhere.
Firstly was the extream lack of service, there must have been a total of 4 tables of people eating there yet it still took them a good 20+ min for my starter. Which Somehow came out cold.
My side dish of olives must of been the worst most boring pot of olives I have tasted. Real low quality for the price paid. Oh and I found a clump of hair mixed in with them.
I then moved on to the main, a tiny piece of fish on leaves for £12.99 and my partners Tiny duck and cold green beans for alot more.
Oh whats that??? Another clump of hair.
So overall the food was crap.
As for the atmosphere? I imagine it could of been quite a nice place to relax with a coffee. That is if it was not for the staff members shouting to each other from across the restaurant making a noise worse than a screaming baby.
Lucky the meal was free with Tesco vouchers. Not that I would of ended up paying anyway.
Ikea - Bristol
Eastgate Centre, Eastgate Road, Bristol BS5 6XX
03-04-2009
Very average place, most people go on about IKEA being cheap, well thats just not true. Why? Because nothing here is build to last. The only thing I have bought in IKEA that has lasted more than a year is a box for drawing pins.
My sofa has broke twice, my table has broke once and other odd little bits have been poorly made.
However it does still have a few little gems inside. And if your starting up a new place or are a little strapped for cash then I would recommend IKEA.
Miss Millies Fried Chicken - Bristol
79 East Street, Bristol BS3 4EX

I have to be honest I would not normally give a fast food shop much of a review. However Ive become quite a fan of the miss millies chain of T/A.
Its similar to KFC only differnce is that the food does not taste purely of grease and fat but also contains lots of juicy chicken.
You do get alot for your money and as Sar2them mentioned the Mega bite meals are a real deal.
Good thick pieces of chicken here and great side dishes of corn on cob and gravy.
If your looking for fast food this should be top of the list.
Although the good review I will still only give 3 stars, as its still fast food.
Ali's Kebab House - Bristol
118 Oxford Street, Bristol BS3 4RL

Decent kebabs here, not the best but certainly not the worst, they are good tasting and are usually packed with meat and salad. They have a good menu and are fairly quick and getting your order done.
Ive always been full after eating and go there quite often for a quick easy dinner.
The staff are also quite friendly.
The one thing that does let this down is the place itself, it is run down and in desperate need of renovation. Also the inside does not always look the cleanest of kebab shops ive seen.
Its right next to tesco,s so you can pick up some beers or use there carpark if your eating early.
The Harvester - Longwell Green
Bristol BS30 9DA

Pretty good food from here and an all you can eat salad bar, the salad bar itself is really nice with lots of salad, sauce and bread rolls.
The main food is also pretty nice tasting though I have only had one meal there.
Staff are freindly and the early bird offer does make the place very good value.
frankie and benny's - Bristol
The Venue Merlin Road, Bristol BS10 7SR

They do pretty good food here and have a reasonable service, never had a problem. The food was good tasting and not for a bad price and its also a really nice place to chill out before a film with a nice pint.
Comfy and relaxed environment.
Pizza Hut - Bristol
210 The Mall, Cribbs Causeway Regional Shopping Centre Patchway, Bristol BS34 5UR

This is a terrible place, the pizza is cheap in cost but also tastes it.
Went for lunch here one day recently before heading off to a cinema. My meal came out 10+ minutes after my partners. No apology with it, just throw it down on the table and walk off. It was not even busy, there was about 2-3 groups in there including us.
Seriously there is alot better places to have a quick snack. Never again.
Wagamamas - Clifton
63 Queens Road, Bristol BS8 1QL

Very varied restaurant here and can easily go either way. However most of my experiences have been good, food has been fast and always tasty.
Recommend the Katsu Curry.
They do occasionally bring out the food for the same table at differnt times but you are warned about this beforehand if they are exceptionally busy. But this is never a good thing and was always a big No No when I was working in a kitchen.
Also the food and drinks can be expensive for what you get, but you can quite often get good offers if you look on the internet and sign up with there website.
I personally really like the place but can easily see why some people are put off.
Kebab Kid - Cowley
146 Cowley Road, Oxford, Oxfordshire OX4 1JJ

The best Kebab shop ive ever eaten in, this is why I spent one/two nights a week getting my grub from here.
They do a larger than most selection of food for a kebab shop and offer to put your kebabs in Naan bread as oppose to Pitta, which is definately worth it. They are just so so so tasty.
They also offer seating if you wish to eat in and the place always clean and looked after.
As well as this some of the staff are really friendly and polite.
If I could give away a BEST takeaway award it would go here.
