Heading in, I wasn’t aware just how fancy this place is! I realized about halfway up the red carpet that I was sorely under dressed (jeans/t-shirt) and didn’t think id make it inside, luckily after a short pause I was welcomed in by the bouncer, then the hostess, then about 4 waitresses strategically placed along the stairwell, all very welcoming as you see! The place is huge, very lush interiors with ornate oriental design, all very dark though and there was a point when I wasn’t sure if I would find my friends, luckily I did, and was soon sitting on a lavish couch tucking into some complementary prawn crackers which were by far the best prawn crackers I’ve had! I was only there for drinks so we sat near the bar, there were lots of comfy chairs and couches to be had. The cheapest beer on the menu was £6 for a 300ml bottle, a little steep and the cheapest glass of house wine was £9…so I didn’t stay too long as im sure dinner would cost a fortune! A very nice place but just a little outside my budget.

If you find yourself hungry near kilburn high road, then seek this place out for some real italian cuisine! the place is small and not terribly fancy, but its cosy and has a nice patio outside for those summer nights. The food is fantastic but what really stands out is the friendly and efficient service, you are well looked after and treated like friends, our waiter (possibly owner) made us feel like he had all the time in the world for us and the place was packed! In London great service can be a rarity so it was a pleasant suprise! They have a wide selection of italian dishes, I had their speciality pizza which was delicious and very filling, wood fired with very fresh ingrediants. Price wise its not cheap but I felt I got great value for money. Try the Mozzarella and tomatoe salad its better than any I tried Italy!

Only ever used their take-away service and I can highly recommend them! I’ve never been a huge fan of Thai food but they have changed my mind! You can order online through, Urbanbite.co.uk, its quick and easy and they deliver in about 40minutes! The food is still hot and very delicious! Price wise it really good value but don’t bother with starters because they cost around £1 less than a main and you get a tiny portion, rather get an extra main and have leftovers! I can recommend the Phad Thai, or you can venture into Indian food and try some lamb tandoori!

Where better to drink wine, eat cheese and act cultured than in an ancient wine cellar? Definitely the right atmosphere for it, the only problem being that its totally packed! I have only been on the weekend so it may be better on weekdays, the most recent time I was barely able to get down the staircase, people were pushing, shoving, grumbling and creating an air of unpleasantness, you can still grab a bottle and head outside which is what I’ve always ended up doing but then you are subjected to the fine London weather. Its definitely worth checking out though and despite my gripes I’d probably go again.

Great venue for live music and stand-up comedy, many of the best acts in the world have performed here. The venue is a classy old building, like an old fashioned theatre. Size wise its a medium size venue which i generally prefer cause you don’t have to fight the crowd to get close to the performers. As per usual there is seating upstairs and standing downstairs, plenty of bars (head to the ones by the doors if you dont want to que they aren’t very busy). If you are standing the floor is sloped so you always get a good view, they have metal bars to stop the moshpit bouncing out of control so it all feels very safe and civilized, but if you want to go crazy just head down front and centre! You can get the usual concert food but I suggest eating beforehand
