Run by the fabulous Andy, who i’ve been reliably informed has been Welsh champion hair stylist, Boosh is brilliant. The most vibrant and fun salong i’ve ever been to. They gave me exactly what i asked for and I had a grand time watching the hustle and bustle of goings on in the salon while I waited for my colour to set. Andy is the life and soul of Boosh and holds everything together. The place is so popular i think that there’s a waiting list of people wanting to work there! If you want to try somewhere wild and fun that does great things to people’s hair, try Boosh. I reckon you’ll be hooked. I am.

This Italian sits in amidst the multitude of bars and restaurants that Wind Street is famous for. I went with a friend on a Friday lunchtime in August and it was very quiet, with only three tables occupied including ours (that’s the recession for you!).
I ordered mussels in tomato sauce to start (they were OK) and my friend chose the peeled prawns & asparagus (looked a bit mushy). For main course I had the pasta with smoked salmon and asparagus in a white wine cream sauce (really tasty and yummy – wish the portion hadn’t been so big though because I had to leave half of it and I HATE wasting food). My friend had the Spaghetti with chicken and mushrooms (he left half of his too because the portion was too big). We each had a bottle of Italian beer (the one with the guy in a hat on the front – looks like a squiffy Paul Newman) and the whole lot came to around £35.
The food was good, but nothing to write home about. The staff were very friendly and polite and, like, really, really, really good looooooking. There was a pleasant atmosphere and a good vibe and I got the feeling that it would be much more lively and vibrant in the evening. I’d definitely give it a whirl one night.
