Honestly have never had a worse esperience at a salon. Was booked in to have a colour, then told I couldn’t have that, and my hair was bleached instead. Was supposed to have a deep conditioning treatment but was in and out of the washing area within 5 minutes. I then asked could I have a “rough dry”, I was told by the person doing my hair that she actually preferred to do a blow dry, against my wishes. My hair was white blonde at the roots, with a terrible yellow line around my head, which the staff told me to go home and put “silver shampoo” on. The massive yellow patches ensured that I couldn’t leave the house without a hat on! Rang back up to get a correction and experienced very bad customer service, with the owner telling me it was my fault and hanging up the phone. Fortunately I went to another salon who corrected it but this was a very distressing experience for me and wouldn’t want anyone else to go through what I did!I did however, after several phonecalls, get a refund which I used to buy a deep conditioning treatment as my hair had been so damaged
UpsetCustomer0 Thanks for your attempted explanation. I’m sorry but the professional salon I visited after visiting your “salon” were easily able to lift it and also in the past were able to lift it no problem with bigger regrowth than I came to your salon with. (also to clarify, my regrowth was no bigger than 2 inches.) your inexperienced stylist applied one strength of bleach over the whole section which I know is incorrect as I have obviously had my hair bleached in the past and know it requires two different strengths. One strength on the hair closest to the scalp and another strength below that but obviously you should know this being a “professional salon” so why was I left with one strength of bleach on my reasonably sized regrowth with NO TONER used afterwards.
The conversation didn’t get anywhere as you lost your temper and slammed the phone down, leaving me audibly upset, not the type of customer service you describe giving on your website. The photographs taken afterwards were shown to many people including professional colourists and stylist who were incredibly shocked and appalled at how anyone would be allowed to leave a salon in that state. Your “stylist” under no circumstances should ignore the clients requests on their own hair and do as they please as this is highly unprofessional and intimidating. Whether or not she didn’t want me to “miss out” it was inappropriate and unacceptable to blow dry my hair when I specifically expressed my reluctance to have it blow dried,( my hair ha been damaged quite enough at this point and I didn’t want the heat of a blow dry to irreparably damage it.) I don’t appreciate the lie about my wanting to use my own toner at home, this is impossible as I don’t OWN any toner and would appreciate if you could at least be honest here. Another lie is that I was aware of the charges for the products from the beginning, I was not made aware of any extra charges. You may have a copy of the photo of the damage that your salon inflicted if you refuse to believe that it was damaged by yourselves, this is actually available on the google review that I made too. As far as I’m concerned, the matter is closed and I only wanted to share my negative experience so people may get a fair idea of what “House of Hinton” has to offer. Ps- my hair is still damaged from your salon and will take many more treatments to regain its health prior to my experience with you. Pps- as gracious as you tried to seem about the refund, I feel it proves that you admit being in the wrong. Good luck with the salon and I hope in future this will not happen to anyone else.

bryley Im sorry but we did use two strengths of bleach as we explained why we did this at the time, my stylist and myself kept checking on you hair as you had explained many salons had “damaged your hair in the past” I did explain the extra charges before we started the service and you were happy to proceed. I hate to have anyone unhappy so thats why I gave a refund. I hope you find a salon that your happy with.
