Somerfield (soon to be co-op): I don't agree with the other reviewers comments about the staff - they are the most miserable bunch of people I have ever met, never seen any of them crack a smile. They bark at you '£10.36'! no 'please' and even when I say Thank you and goodbye to them they just ignore me. Oh and the food in here is the most expensive i've seen it anywhere, would be cheaper to shop at Waitrose. And they do the old 'chuck the rotten veg on top of the fresh to try and sell it trick' too (yes all supermarkets do it I know) Dig deep in those veg trays is my advice. Also be careful of any 'fresh' dairy products, I often get home and they are frozen, what does that tell you?

The best Chinese in Hockley and probably in the surrounding areas too. fab staff, fab food, fab prices. Never ever had a bad meal from this place, and recommend it to anyone. The shop doesn't look much from the outside, but trust me, if your looking for a great chinese takeaway this is your place.

This is the worst chip shop I have ever been to in my life. I can only assume the queue outside on a Friday is due to it being the only chip shop on the high street. The chips are vile (to the point where I spat them out). I also ordered a pancake roll, I was expecting a nice sized crispy pastry with nice veg like beansprouts etc (i.e. what you get anywhere else). Instead I got a small crispy roll with what can only be described as biege mush in it, went straight in the bin. I don't know why people of Hockley put up with these standards, I guess they don't know any better...sorry Hockley people but your chip shop is not doing you justice!

Not as cheap as you think, I bought an icing syringe from here for £4.99, then saw the same one in Wilkinson a few days later for £1.59. Also that staff are really bad at telling the time. The window of the shop says 'open until 6pm' which is incorrect as it actually closes at 5.30pm, and don't bother turning up after 5.15pm, as its normally already all shut up for the day, its nice to know they can afford to lose customers in this way!.
