The Millgate - Manchester

Ashton Road West, Manchester, Greater Manchester M35 0ES

Very nice place with clean interior and nice food. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere is pleasant and there is always somewhere to sit. The only negative i can think of is when you go for the carvery you don't get very much meat and the selection can often be very limited with items missing. overall its a good night and local to all making it easy to find or get to.

Chocolate Yorks Sweet Story - York

King's Square, York, North Yorkshire YO1 7LD

We went to this whilst we stayed in York, I usually write positive reviews and find the best in everything but this was a big disappointment,It is overpriced and not very much going on for the price you pay. For similar or less you can go into other places and learn more and get back what you pay with goodies or at least something to take away.

We stood in a line whilst it was raining for a while before being herded in like cattle and pushed round and it was rushed. The staff in the shop were very negative and didn't even really look at the customers and looked like they didn't want to be there. I understand when times are busy as my work is busy at the most of times and people can get slightly grouchy but this was a waste as manners cost nothing.

York Minster - York

Deans Park Chapter House Street, York, North Yorkshire YO1 7JA

A beautiful building with a large amount of visual aspects to enjoy! i have visited many time being a photographer so this building draws me in for many different reasons. Its a shame you now have to pay to get in as i thought it was mainly about giving and helping but it depends who much you would want to see it.

It still has its own unique presence in the city of York and still very interesting to visit even if you are not big on history or religion but trek to the top of the largest tower gives you an amazing view of the entire city! reasonably priced to climb the very high tower (not for the unfit) as it is crazy with small stairs and takes around 15 minutes to climb as many people do it.

The staff are friendly and pleasant and cater for all people and nationalities and keep their professional image for themselves and the establishment!

I will be visiting again soon but i hope the price does not rise.

The Golden Fleece - York

I visited this pub as i heard many reviews and saw it on the television (as everyone does). Being a photographer and interested in history i had to give this place a visit and see it for myself. Soon as i walked in it was loverly and warm with a quiet atmosphere and a welcoming girl behind the bar. It was raining outside and i was offered a place to dry my coat and store my equipment. The pub has a lovely environment and historic appearance and friendly locals aswell as staff.

People comment on the toilets a lot but the times i have been inside they were fine and even when it was busy they were satisfactory. The food is gorgeous and i only decided to eat when i saw others food arriving and looking alone tempted me. The drinks are cheap and the food is well priced for what you get overall its a good place to be when you have time to spare. I will deffinately be vising this place again soon as i intend to see the live music to which i have heard good reviews.

A night out is a good thing when you spend it with good people in a place like this!

Ibis York Centre - York

77 The Mount, York, North Yorkshire YO24 1BN

I visited York a few weeks back for photography purposes and stayed in the Ibis as i had enjoyed my stay whilst visiting Amsterdam for the same reason. I previously lived and studied in York many years back so knew which hotels were convenient and how they looked quality wise. My stay in the York Ibis was delightful and pleasant. The girl at reception was more than helpful and very friendly and welcoming.

I spent only one night in this establishment but it was well worth it. The price was cheaper than everywhere else and was like a 4 star hotel. Lovely interior and clean and refreshing to walk around with a nice friendly bar too. The room was clean with an Amazing view of the cathedral and castle and many historic buildings. I brought back some tea for myself and the girl at reception obtained a plate and fork/knife for me and even said i can take them to my room!

The breakfast was delightful and the staff in the morning were very friendly and kind. The buffet breakfast was hot and fresh and the dinner area was nice and quiet rather than busy and rushing round with a lot of people.

I am planning to stay here again in 2 weeks for 4 nights this time round and simply cannot wait i would highly recommend this hotel for cost and convenience and most of all a wonderful experience.

Hard Rock Cafe - Manchester

Unit 7-9 The Printworks 27 Withy Grove, Manchester, Greater Manchester M4 2BS

Hard Rock cafe Manchester is a very lively and modern place to eat out in the heart of Manchester. Its got a really good atmosphere and live events on most nights if not every weekend and Friday at the very least. We always go for food or just a casual drink and end up making a night of it! The food is rather pricey but you get the quality for what you have paid and the staff are always very polite and friendly. Sometimes it can get rather rowdy on a weekend so eating earlier is more suitable especially for families. The cocktails are also rather pricey but not your common drinks so to some it may be well worth it or just a curiosity moment when you have the extra cash.

Would definitely recommend but is far better when there is more of you rather than couples or by yourself.
