EDINA LOCK AND KEY CO - Edinburgh

10 BRANDON TERRACE, Edinburgh, Scotland EH3 5EA

27-08-2012

Have been there twice, was ripped off the first time and taken for a ride the second.
First time I was charged £5 for a copy of a letterbox key.
Second time I asked for a quote for a stainless steel house number (approx 6 x 8 inches). Was told £140(!!!) When I queried it they said, well, it's stainless steel, that's expensive.
Turns out I know how to calculate the wholesale cost of brushed steel: assuming 2 mm thickness, 0.15 x 0.2 x 7.5 x 2 x 10 = £4.50 (that's assuming steel at £10 per kg, which is pretty high).

inbrass This review is total nonsense.

£5 is a perfectly reasonable price for a key and our key cutting prices are considerably cheaper than competitors. I have no idea what the bizarre arithmetic is supposed to show.

I can only assume this reviewer has been having a bad day and has chosen to vent his spleen in an inappropriate and childish manner.

Jessops - Edinburgh

Edinburgh, Scotland EH2 4RG

30-07-2012

Went in to get some passport photos for my daughter. The person obviously had no idea how to take a picture of a child, made no effort to get her to cooperate and was quite clearly uninterestes in the whole thing. When I said we were going to leave the assistant looked quite happy. Clearly could not be bothered. Very unprofessional.

Los Argentinos Steak House - Edinburgh

28-30 West Preston Street, Edinburgh, Scotland EH8 9PZ

26-03-2011

There is really very little Argentinian about this place, except the names on the menu. One of the waiters looked Indian and the other two Polish, none of whom incidentally had a good grasp of the Scottish accent. Essentially they serve steaks and other meat dishes, which all things considered are not bad, though very expensive for what you are getting. After placing our order the food arrived suspiciously quickly, and in general I got the impression that all they wanted was our money and to get us out as quickly as possible. The waiters are not particularly polite and hardly make you feel at home. In the end the only reason to go here is to eat a semi-decent steak. However there are several other places in Edinburgh that will give y
Ou this and at much better value for money and in a more friendly environment.

Very Important Qyper medal for Beatfienduk

Beatfienduk Supposed to be heading here tonight but after ringing to reduce the number of seats I'm less than confident that they've even got a record of the booking.
